I like Boris, that doesn't mean I think he was good PM however, for all his foibles I'd sooner have Boris in number 10 than Starmer who is proving to be extremely divisive and out of his depth, dare I say incompetent. One thing is for sure, illegal immigrants, minorities, criminals, and hostile actors will be very pleased that Starmer is the PM. Well, he inherited a lot of unresolved problems from the Tories, didn't he? Why didn't they fix these problems when they had years in which to do it? The biggest problem Boris inherited, was that in September 2019 when we became leader, we were still in the EU, and Labour had kept voting to frustrate our exit. We should never have joined the EU, and Von Der Leyen's vaccine theft demonstrated just how poor a trading "partner" that organisation is.

LONDON, Sept 28 (Reuters) - Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said he ordered military chiefs to plan a raid on a Dutch factory in March 2021 to secure 5 million COVID vaccines that the European Union had threatened to bar from being exported to Britain. Johnson said the deputy chief of Britain's defence staff at the time, Lieutenant General Doug Chalmers, had told him a raid using small boats to cross the Channel and navigate Dutch canals would be possible - but warned him of diplomatic repercussions. www.reuters.com/world/uk/uks-ex-pm-johnson-says-he-planned-raid-dutch-factory-get-covid-vaccines-2024-09-28/LOL, I mean, what can you say? Boris planned to attack the Netherlands! LOL brilliant, good man, what a player. He may be barking, but at least he's not boring. is this a serious post? I mean honestly? Boris Johnson by every report , from inside the tory party , to outside it , and by most political leaders who met him , is a clown of a man , poor orator , poor politician , who seems to be loved by certain sections of the English public as a sort of loveable bad boy loose cannon. In his time in power , im struggling to see any achievement of his that will leave a political legacy , except getting Brexit done , and even then, he couldnt do that correct. He Is the only uk prime minister in history to voluntarily give up a part of the uk state without firing a shot , yet here we are , hearing another cult like story of his apparent wish to raid the dutch. Sounds like a Kenny Everett sketch from the eighties to be honest red.

Are you questioning the accuracy of the Reuters link, or perhaps you disagree with me when I said Boris was barking...

It was probably decided not to go ahead with it because of the state of our naval forces ... on a previous occasion when we fell out with the Netherlands they sailed their fleet up the Thames.
"A flotilla of ships sailed up the Thames Estuary, broke through the defences guarding Chatham Harbour, set fire to several warships moored there, and towed away HMS Unity and the Royal Charles, flagship and second largest ship of the Royal Navy".
This happened not long after London had been hit by a plague ... but I don't think it had anything to do with vaccines.
We couldn't risk having the Dutch nick our super modern aircraft carriers ... mind you ... they probably wouldn't want them considering the problems we've been having with them.

Im questioning the seriousness that boris planned a military raid on a dutch factory. Nothing more than another spinning yarn about Johnson , adding to the fables behind his disastrous time in power. A man who couldnt plan a military defence of Northern Ireland , an integral part of the uk , and surrenders it without a shot being fired to the EU at his American bosses request , yet we are seriously asked to believe this guff?

It wasnt too many years ago the Iranians in a wooden Arab dhow took british sailors hostages in the Middle East. Imagine what a first world army and navy would do ? Like I said , another far fetched story fabricating yet more tales about nutty boris , the much loved bad boy loose cannon of the daily mail types like Red Rackham. Its laughable. Reuters must have been having a bad news day to come out with that pish. Next up...........at a boozy lockdown party , boris planned another Agincourt with the French for stealing all our fish.
