UK could import water from Norway.......
One of the UK's largest water companies is considering shipping supplies from Norway to the UK........
Southern Water said the idea was a "last-resort contingency measure" in case of extreme droughts in the early 2030s.
Up to 45 million litres per day could be brought to the UK in tankers under the proposals.
The Financial Times, which first reported the potential move, said the water would be transported by tankers in fjords of the Scandinavian country.

Allegedly each person in the UK uses 114 Litres of water a day, given the size of the population of the UK which is increasing a drop in the Ocean the UK at the present time the UK probably loses more than that a day due to leaky Victorian Pipes.
Thee water companies have replaced miles and miles of it but still a long way to go and very costly, they need more treatment plants as well

Given the amount of rain we get in this country all we need to do is build a few more reservoirs. However that would need the Planning regulations that prevent building anything in this country to be scrapped - so shipping water in is probably the best policy.

A bunch of the terrorists have a shitty plaque in red and white on a wall on the way to the Snowdon Mountain Railway. I'd enjoy blowing that up for the butthurt it would cause ...

I do recall the powers that be wanted and needed to build more reservoirs but the problem was where to build them and as you say Planning Permission was a problem, then of course they need to build more houses which Labour are advocating thousands of them some of it on the Green Belt, if that happens its gone for good

Which is an impoosibility...I guess abacus did the maths...
Labour's plan to build 1.5m homes – can it be delivered?

Genger Binger wants to ruin our pretty little village - we'll go to war to stop her'.......
Angela Rayner is trying to force through a "massive" data centre in a quaint and quiet rural village - despite local decision-makers already furiously rejecting the proposal.
The Labour Party MP for Ashton-under-Lyme is keen to push through the construction of the data centre in Abbots Langley in Hertfordshire, which would hold information for the NHS and financial sectors, as well as keep data safe from cyber-attacks.
The pretty country field that the Deputy PM wants to construct a data centre on
However, local residents are outraged, and with the backing of the local Three Bridges council, plan to fight the move all the way to the bitter end.
Logistics manager Josh Fung, who lives in the village with his wife and small children, accused the Labour deputy leader of trying to "overturn the local decision" to reject the centre's construction.
He told The Telegraph: "Our houses were only built four years ago. We knew nothing about this. When the developers first tried to get planning permission, the whole project was rejected by the council."

In Rural parts of the UK many people do not have clean mains drinking water, where I am in the West of Ireland we do not have mains water, the water for our house is taken from a stream that runs down the hill at the back of the house.
As its off the hills it is brackish slight tint of brown from the Turf ( Peat ) it is gravity fed and passes through two filters it is safe to cook with and wash and drink but we prefer to cleaner water to drink from the mains water for tea and coffee which we get from a relative 2 km away in big bottles twice a week.
When we were living in the UK we took clean water for granted.
Our waste water from the house and sewage flows into a Septic Tank which is filtered , and the waste is pumped back up the hill to another filter to seep slowly back into the land which means the land is very fertile, the Septic Tank needs emptying about every 3 years

The majority of solids are eaten up by enzigns and require emptying about once every 20 years..

Same principle here new tanks have to conform to strict Environmental requirements, our tank is about 15 years old but should we need to replace it new rules apply

Providing more houses (importing a million people a year) makes providing more reservoirs difficult and also adds to the need for more reservoirs

Providing more houses (importing a million people a year) makes providing more reservoirs difficult and also adds to the need for more reservoirs Even more strain on the entire infrastructure HHS, Schools, Transport, here in Ireland with a much smaller land space and less than 5 million population they are getting very angry about the amount of alleged asylum seekers arriving or using the Republic as a stepping stone to get to the North and into mainland UK, any coming back into the Republic same thing.

Unfortunately, the civil service want more taxpayers to help pay their wages and there doesn't seem to be a way of voting these people out of power.
