Labour back bencheers are going to rebel against the governments, Starmers cutting of oap benefits. Rebellions like this have been undermining governments for a long time now.
It gets to the point where a government cant govern without the consent of the harpies sniping in the background. As Napoleon said, when you see the enemy making a mistake, never interrupt him. If the cuts in benefits happen, pensioners will die, and it will hasten the end of the adolescents in charge.
Bercow was a classic and all his pro europe gang, that whoever is in charge it seems that the house unites to end them regardless. Chaos results, its the cancer that has been afflicting goverment since the early 2000. Part of it is that elected governments bat against the people, an incredible fact, then it all gets bad.
All of it. Like today, that as Hitchens said, these geezers got in by the back door, and we are governed by student politics.

There was a massive cancer making its way through parliament 1980 to 1990.

Iirc Hitchens pointed out the bubble that they live in and their inability to ‘ read the room’ as it is applied to politics. They seem to have no better idea than the worst of the Tories .

Starmer is mistaking a huge majority as being a sign of huge popularity. He can basically ram through everything he wants and the majority of his MPs will tow the line because they want a sniff of that power too.
His problem is he thinks he can ignore the unions like Blair did, but Blair was massively popular with the members and the public. It's like watching a car crash in slow motion. Reeves is going to tank all the growth because along with Starmer, they stupidly committed to no increase in NI, income tax or VAT. Raynor is telling everybody wants she wants to do... and then she will stab Starmer in the back when he doesn't let her.
