Starmer is a freebie scrounger. No amount of leftie apologists making excuses and sneering at those who point it out will change that . Just as two houses Rayner has booted her copy book , so has Kier Scrounger.

The pass to No.10 is wrong. But why can’t the local fashion industry be allowed to clothe senior UK statesmen and be charged for the privilege? That would be good for the UK and good for the party in power — not only would the PM then, hopefully, not look like a tousle-haired blonde slob, but UK tailoring would be given an additional stage… Seriously! Starmer is a millionaire, he's worth c£8 million. He is paid £165,000 salary and his wife receives a £50,000 NHS salary. He has spent the last five years constantly criticising the Tories over sleaze, breaking the rules, breaking the ministerial code. It now transpires he failed to declare thousands of pounds worth of 'gifts' including £5,000 worth of designer clothes for his wife and unbelievably, he said he didn't know he was supposed to declare gifts given to his wife! Christ almighty who's advising him? Can you imagine what he would be saying if the boot were on the other foot? Starmer would be screaming for resignations, he is an absolute hypocrite, the classic champagne socialist. Seriously?
I'd be really suspicious of a pauper as PM!
Also, I'd hope that if any politician was found to be influenced by the gift of half a pair of boots, they'd resign in shame...

To clarify my question for those who once again illustrate that some posters here aren’t capable of understanding and handling more than one idea at a time — I am asking why fashion designers and manufacturers should not be offered (for a substantial fee) the opportunity to have members of the government wear their designs. Such income would go towards govt receipts through whatever department or function that handles govt/state advertising and publicity (Cabinet Office ?), not to the individual clothes horse… Pretty sure I can see a flaw in that idea...

LOL you're having a laugh. Starmer is the classic well heeled champagne socialist. He is worth in excess of £8 million, he is paid £160,000 and his wife is paid £50,000. And it's been revealed that Starmer and his wife have accepted over £100,000 worth of 'gifts'. Have a shufty at your 'pauper' PM, and this is from the Labour supporting Guardian... Starmer’s £100,000 in tickets and gifts more than any other party leader - link Can you imagine what Starmer would be saying if the boot were on the other foot? Yes of course you can. Starmer is the biggest political hypocrite in my lifetime.

A few seconds ago it was revealed that Starmer has said...
..."not declaring gifts was a genuine oversight, I didn't realise I had to declare gifts given to my wife".
So that's OK then. The prime minister, an Oxford educated lawyer, indeed a KC, didn't realise he had to declare gifts.
But wait a minute... remember the so called 'cash for curtains' scandal? Boris as PM accepted £58,000 from Lord Brownlow to help pay for the refurbishment of the Downing St flat. Starmer seized on the fact that Boris failed to immediately declare it. Across the despatch box during PMQ's Starmer said...
Quote... “The prime minister will be aware that he’s required to declare any gifts within 28 days. He will also know any donation will be recorded in the minister’s interest, and under law, any donation of over £500 must be registered and declared. This is incredibly serious. The rules are very clear.”
It would seem as far as Starmer is concerned that the rules, as clear as they undoubtedly are, do not apply to him.

Who’d of thought captain hindsight was such a scrounger ? No better than taking brown envelopes of cash. I agree, and the thing is he says he will continue to accept gifts. Talk about not reading the room. Earlier Health Secretary Wes Streeting gave a speech at the the Institute for Public Policy. After the speech as is traditional he took questions from reporters. Chris Hope for GB News stood up and asked - who pays for your suits? LOL, brilliant.

Johnson and Truss both went, and I bet neither of them really understands what was so unacceptable about their terms in office… Shouldn’t the questions be why any of them accept them instead of all the excuses we hear that it’s not a problem. The effects Johnson and Truss have had on the UK continue to be a problem. One of them was a liar, the other incompetent but at least one had the traits of the other. Before just understanding why they acted as they did, my view is that we should ensure it doesn’t happen again…
