The German government is clearly reacting to the growth of the opposition and is, at least temporarily, putting the wishes of the people first by pushing tighter border control. The UK works in the opposite way where Joseph Starmer and his horde of IslamoLefties punish the British people for daring to oppose the murder of British people of all ages.

The EU has been a mess since its creation 31 years ago, it desperately needs reform. It will muddle on oblivious to the lives of normal people and get worse before another country gets fed up and leaves, then it will reform out of panic.

This shows how a brilliant people, the British, how at times how incredibly stupid they are. Germany, France etc break EU rules on a whim, bit not the British, we follow rules, and when law breakers tell us were naughty, we are ashamed.
How is it that the super bright in the establishment support the EU? How can anyone support something SO WRONG.

How is it that the super bright in the establishment support the EU? How can anyone support something SO WRONG. That's one of the great conundrums. I don't know the answer. Another conundrum is why the British people keep supporting the Tories or Labour - when it has been obvious for decades that they're both useless. Why didn't Reform win the last election? No idea. My attitude to the EU is very simple. When tariffs were very high (back in the 60's) it made sense to pay to join the Common Market and get free trade. But world-wide tariffs are much lower now and we do less trade with Europe than in the past. We were paying more to be in the EU than it would have cost to pay the tariffs and being outside the EU and avoiding losing our sovereignty. The thing is I don't think any of the EU-philes actually know this. Even though it's simple arithmetic.

Reform got more than 4 million votes but a fraction of the seats the Lib Dems got. We need a different voting system (PR), break the two party monopoly on power and have a Parliament of many voices.

That's true but why do the British public think that the govt has to be either Tory or Labour? I think the problem is that people think that only a party that's been in government before will know how to do the job - when the basic fact is that it's the civil service actually run the country (very badly). The politicians jut suggest broad policy decisions. Anybody can do that.

There's still the prevailing idea that only by voting for one of the two parties can you get the other out. And they're both shit.

Trump in the USA backing Farage offers a greater possibility for Reform in the UK. Or we can have more of the same with Starmer and creeps licking out Harris' massive arsehole until we all starve to death.

Germany's economic sentiment takes a dramatic fall as outlook worsens...... Germany's economic outlook took a dramatic and unexpected downturn in September, signalling a deepening slump in confidence for the eurozone's largest economy. The ZEW Economic Sentiment Index, a key measure of the economic morale held by financial experts, dropped from 19.2 points in August to just 3.6 points in September, well below forecasts of 17 points. This marks the index's lowest level since October 2023.

There was a time when we had all to play for and I would have agreed with you, however with the government we have now we haven't a prayer really. This government has no intention of stopping the boats and we'll be all the poorer for it......However, the European Commission has already criticised the plans, saying 'you cannot evade EUSSR legislation'. " Have they explained that to the Germans? The Netherlands becomes first EUSSR country to demand it can opt-out of migration rules to ensure it 'can provide housing, health care and education' to its citizens..... www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13868253/Netherlands-EU-country-opt-migration-rules.html
