Is this Down to diversity? Dunno, but the madness is definitely catching up. Should have built a wall around the place.

I was very interested the other day to watch this video someone had made from Chongqing. The chap lived there and did a walk around for about an hour showing you the streets, houses , people shops and industry there. It is one of the poorest places in China and I mean compared to Cleveland this place had far less. The thing was though there was not one bit of graffiti, any sign of any vandalism or anything like that. The chap did comment there was crime in the area, but I think he was speaking in a relative sense because what you saw were these poor people all getting on with one another, helping one another and being friends. It was such a relaxed atmosphere despite everyone being very poor and the housing looking like the old soviet 1950s buildings on their last legs. You could sense a kind of buzz in the air of people making the best of what they had, and being positive about it, like no one complaining.
Where poverty is used as an excuse for crime in the UK, I do not buy it. What I reckon is the people there are nasty and have driven out any prospect of prosperity.Any who had the attitude of making the best of what they had and trying to better themselves would have experienced theft and violence, and simply taken their skills to areas where they are properly rewarded. I experienced this in Manchester, another area full of scummy people. I would not of course class them as all the same as there were a lot of innocent poor people in Manchester minding their own business, but I did tend to find instead of the innocent condemning immoral behaviour, they had a careless attitude, like mothers did not really care what their children were up to and that kind of thing, as if it were so commonplace they had accepted these poor standards. One of my first experiences of this was when I was in a hall of residence and there were 8 of us and we shared a common kitchen. Even though we were all poor students there was one Northerner type who would steal my food on a regular basis. How low down can you get eh? I caught the bastard as well, but they did not see anything immoral about that. They thought it was funny.

Scummy and northern type you need to get a life and get out more You aught to read your own threads. This is what we are talking about. Virtually every day in this country there is some brutal murder.

What do you put the violence down to ? Bad upbringing usually by parents with the same lack of morals and made worse by the constant references to violence in the media every day. It starts with a thought in the head and often this can be suggested to someone who is a bit mental already. Gang violence is popularised in youth culture, as if the media are trying to create it. You see it feeds itself. It sells papers.
