So we're putting illegals in hotels, and homeless British people in containers. I wonder, when will the riots start?.. The 'container village'...

This is just that but with some window dressing .

Given the council is using the temporary accommodation it is clear they don't have the capacity to meet the demand. So, would you rather "native homeless" remained homeless, rather than share accommodation with Ukrainians? All The Best

I mean I think we can assume the Ukrainians are genuine refugees, so we'd have a legal obligation to house them, even if net immigration were zero. The council clearly does not have sufficient capacity, after decades of allowing an essential service like a housing being left to profiteering vagaries of "the market". So surely using the temp accommodation to help British homeless is a good thing. How could anyone see it as a bad thing? All The Best

Native homeless should have priority - in any country that put its own citizens first that is.

It has nothing to do with me ‘ rather them remain homeless’.

But given we have a legal duty to house genuine refugees, and no such legal duty to our own citizens (several Governments have resisted attempts to make housing a human right) , the Council seems to be stuck between a rick and a hard place. All The Best
