The Germans deported 28 Convicted Afghanis at one go, why cannot the UK do the same ? Because we don't deport people to unsafe countries . We take very few Afgani ,about 20,000 in all since the Taliban re-took control . Germany on the other hand has a massive problem with immigration and have around 400,000 Afganis and have had over 1 million migrants in every of the last ten years . The rise of the right even if they don't actually get to govern forces the governing party to act on the problems that get right wing votes . Nobody (well not many) wants to vote for extreme parties but are forced down that road when governments ignore their concerns . We have only had a small indication in the UK of what is to come if the government doesn't get a grip on controlling immigration into the UK . If Starmer thinks the few yobs that came out to play last month was 'the far right' he is in for a rude awakening .

In democracies governments who do not address concerns are governments who do not stay in power very long.
Alternative For Germany may well be the government of Germany one day, and calling them "far right" doesn't address the underlying concerns.

I think this more than any other factor shows how broken the UK political system is..... Because these concerns have gone unaddressed for a very long time indeed Although the razor wire along the last two miles of road to Calais Port is quite impressive

Yes I am aware that we will not deport people back to their country of origin if they face torture or worse, however we find it difficult to deport Criminals back to places such as Jamacia due to appeal after appeal by far Human Rights Lawyers And yes if he does not listen to peoples concerns he and his Government could well be in for a very rough ride,

Germany’s far-right AfD party is on course for big gains in regional elections in the eastern states of Thuringia and Saxony, the latest polls showed on Friday. Nearly 5 million Germans will cast their votes on Sunday in a closely-watched election, widely seen as a test for Chancellor Olaf Scholz and his left-liberal coalition government. A poll by Forsa research institute found that 30% of voters in Thuringia would give their vote to the anti-immigrant AfD party, making it the biggest party in the state parliament. www.aa.com.tr/en/europe/germany-s-far-right-afd-set-for-big-gains-in-regional-elections/3317223I take issue with AfD being described as 'far right' simply because they want immigration controls. AfD are certainly right wing, but only a deluded lefty would describe the party as fascist or Nazi, which are far right. From GB today If you wanted to know why Germany has taken a lurch to the far Right here’s one answer; 40% of all crime suspects in Berlin are foreign nationals, with burglaries up a third in a year and serious bodily crime at an all-time high. Add that to the truly shocking slaughter in Solingen of three people who were stabbed to death by a Syrian asylum seeker who had dodged deportation, and you can see why the AfD polled over 30% in Sunday’s two German state elections, Thuringia and Saxony. They are Europe’s new political powerhouse The country is scared for its future. And it’s not just the old who are taking fright. In Thuringia (in the old Germany) 38% of those aged between 18 and 34 voted for the AfD. The party has thrown much of its marketing into Tik Tok and Instagram and Gen Z has bought into its fervently anti-migrant message. The leaders of Alternative fur Deutschland proclaim they are the Party for Youth. It is the most popular party among the young. It feels like only yesterday that, with Germany economically strong, that Chancellor Merkel decided she had to show her ‘’caring’’ credentials and threw open the door to 1,500,000 migrants, mainly from Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq. She was viewed as saint like. At first main stream media embraced the newcomers claiming the surge in immigration would lead to an economic boom. A decade later that optimism has disappeared. Related video: Germany stabbing: Police issue statement as teen arrested in connection with incident (GB News) We have to put everything together like a jigsaw puzzle Were Germany’s economy booming things might be different but Chancellor Scholz’s three party coalition is presiding over an economy that is shrinking with no recovery in sight. In a good piece by Lisa Haseldine in The Spectator, she says Germany has been slow to adapt to the digital world, with its over-reliance on old analogue industries, leaving the country as the growth laggard of Europe. And, unbelievably, the size of its workforce is expected to decline faster than in any other major economy. No wonder the young are turning to the far Right. Bjorn Hocke, leader of AfD in Thuringia, says the popularity of his party is due to a rising crime rate, schools ‘’bursting at the seam’’, housing being unaffordable and German ‘’culture’’ under threat. But their main policy is what they refer to as ‘’the mother of all crises’’- immigration. What I don’t care for is his use of the phrase Alles fur Deutschland –-Everything for Germany- which is an old Nazi motto still illegal to be repeated in Germany.

Yes I listened to a German commentator earlier who said the government were deporting illegals and failed asylum seekers back to Afghanistan, and Austria is planning to do the same. I wonder if Starmer will continue to insist that illegals in the UK can hide behind the ECHR. Of course, the only reason the German government have resumed deportations is because the ruling left wing social democrats are very unpopular due to mass immigration, which is why support for AfD continues to rise. Pro EU pro immigration left wing politicians who for years have ignored the majority have only themselves to blame. I agree any Government that does not listen to its citizens is bound to head into trouble and will be voted out, or the people will take to the streets physically in huge numbers The UK Government will just lock up the citizens in concentration camps whilst the other mainstream parties are paid off. Maybe Germany has it better than the UK and still has a fighting chance.
