It seems that in America it is perhaps more possible than in most countries to come from a non-political background but to still gain political office.
There are people from show business, like actors such as Ronald Reagan becoming the President. And Arnold Schwarzenegger becoming the Governor of California. Donald Trump was a TV star as well as a businessman. Dwight D. Eisenhower became President after a military career. Sonny Bono went from music to be a mayor and then a congressman. Clint Eastwood was also a mayor at one time. While Elon Musk would probably like to be the President of the USA, if was allowed to be a candidate. And apparently even Megan Markle would like to be President.
I wonder if forumers can think of anyone from outside of the actual political world who would make a good US President or UK Prime Minister.
