news.sky.com/story/operation-early-dawn-emergency-move-to-avoid-prison-overcrowding-triggered-amid-sentencing-of-rioters-13199191The government launches its plan to tackle an overburdened prison system, in the wake of trials that are thought to have seen dozens of rioters jailed and after the chairman of the Prison Officers' Association says the North East and North West was under particular pressure. An emergency plan to avoid overcrowding in jails has been triggered this morning, the government has announced - in the wake of the sentencing of scores of rioters. Operation Early Dawn is a long-standing plan that means defendants waiting for a court appearance could be held in police cells for longer until prison space is available in the event they are remanded in custody. However, it could mean court dates are delayed or adjourned at short notice. Prosecutors have been trying to fast-track cases of people accused of involvement in the recent riots in parts of the UK, with 927 people arrested and 466 of those charged by last Monday. More than 100 have already been sentenced, it emerged in court last week, with national chairman of Prison Officers Association Mark Fairhurst telling the BBC yesterday that last week, the prison estate had the biggest influx of new receptions it had seen for some time. "We had 397 new receptions. As of Friday we only had 340 spaces left in the adult closed male estate which is feeling the most pressure," he said. Another farcical scheme by the Monster Raving Labour party. No thought given to alternatives to locking people up? Electronic tagging, fines, curfews and community service? Nope. Bereft of ideas as usual. Oh and it's all the Tories' fault. Surely anyone with half a brain could see that convicted people doing 6 months community work is more productive than them doing 6 in jail.

Just let out a few foreign rapists to make room for more political prisoners.
I think that's the plan, anyway.

I listened to something yesterday which was a frightening insight into a dystopian future under an authoritarian Starmer government.
A burglar with three previous convictions was given a 12 month suspended sentence. While on that suspended sentence he was again convicted of burglary. He was sentenced to three months in prison, of which he will serve 40%. A woman who threw a stone at police during a demonstration was sentenced to two years in prison.
Is throwing a stone really more serious than four counts of burglary? I suspect the burglary victims would say no, Starmers Labour government obviously disagree.

Not to mention an elderly woman being locked up for retweeting something that someone else said. So welcome to Comrade Starmers 2024 where it's off to the Gulags for anyone daring to criticise the regime.

It's incredible, burglars thieves and robbers are being let off with suspended sentences to ensure cells are available for people who disagree with this poxy left wing government. And lefties have the fuckin gall to criticise Pinochet.

For whatever reason I'm in a minority of people who don't do social media. I suspect it wont be long under Starmers Stasi before that minority becomes an increasingly angry majority. Thousands of illegals crossing the channel and Starmer forcing net zero on us. There's trouble ahead that's for sure.

This government is Orwellian and their supporters on here appear to be the same lot who either celebrated or attempted to justify Islamist terrorism in a foreign country.
