The army chaplain, named as Fr Paul F Murphy, was stabbed a number of times and is being treated for injuries that are serious but not life-threatening, gardaí said. Fr Murphy, who is in his 50s, was attacked outside the barracks at around 10.45pm and rushed to University Hospital Galway - linkThe gardai have confirmed this is being investigated as a terrorist attack. If this was in the UK, no motive would be given other than to cite mental health issues. |

If it is being treated as a potential terrorist incident it seems odds on that the perpetrator will be BAME and possibly even of the Islamic faith. I am sure mental health issues will appear soon. |

A report on GB News said witnesses who saw the incident claimed the attacker was incoherently 'ranting' about events in the middle east.

Maybe they could copy the method that the Muslims is used in Manchester .
