@sp: I believe your remarks about public acceptance prior to 1997 are a little off the mark and not supported by the historical record.
To make a long story short, public non-acceptance of large-scale 'coloured' immigration forced the Conservatives' hand - after ten years of inaction - into legislation resulting in the 1962 Commonwealth Immigration Act. One of the contributing factors which led to this were the race riots in Nottingham, Notting Hill and elsewhere. Another was the sudden appearance of tens of thousands on immigrants from the sub-continent in 1960-61 spurred by rumours of forthcoming restrictionist legislation in an effort to 'Beat the Ban'. Prior to then immigration had been overwhelmingly from the West Indies.
This was all part of the preamble to Powell's interventions in 1968 as well as the other Commonwealth Immigrants Act enacted by the Labour Government to bar entry to East African Asians.
No, the public disquiet about immigration is not something that did not exist until the Blairite regime, successive governments prior to that felt compelled to take action (of a sort) to deal with it.

It's happened throughout the Occidental world, in countries geographically distant from one another: Western Europe (although Eastern Europe's beginning to catch up), the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. One could point to the fact that they're all first world economies and thus dependent upon migrant labour. However, Japan's successfully managed to limit immigration and remains a racially homogenous and materially affluent country. Besides which, all the supposed economic benefits of mass-immigration, at least for the masses, can easily be debunked and proven to be spurious. Thus we are left with conjecture, or 'conspiracy theory', as to why our countries are being transformed. What's yours? Is its motive benign, the creation of a Marxist egalitarian world state? Or is it a bid by Zionist elders who want to turn us all into serfs and rule us with an iron fist? Is it that after the Holocaust, Jews have used their influence to ensure that they'll no longer be a visible minority in the Occident, but rather be one race amongst many in racially diverse states? Is it down to the Illuminati? Or is it just big business, corporations trying to break down barriers to trade such as numerous currrencies, laws, tariffs, etc?
Recent race riots by the indigenous in England, as well as the draconian measures used to suppress them, highlight the importance of mass immigration to the managerial elite. So why is that the case?
Japan is an interesting place I've started to take a little interest in myself. They are knowns to be very subservient to the US in about the same proportion that we Brits are. They were the world's number two economy at one time. Japan is run by corporate dynasties like Kawasaki, Mitsubishi, Suzuki etc. So how it is in Japan is like a conveyor belt. Kids come out of school, go to university, then each year the various corporations hire that year's graduates and they have a career for life. This was all working fine until the Plaza Accord where the US saw Japan was getting too economically powerful and so it financially engineered its downfall. In these years the corporations were laying off workers and not taking in any new graduates, so you have a whole generation of qualified people who have never had a job. They are called Japan's lost generation.
It is true that they have maintained their culture. They look after it with great care and so now Japan is a very popular tourist destination. They get so many tourists that it is damaging the ancient crafts, so they are now making parts of Japan off-limits to tourists.
Anyway, going back to this country, I think our socialism came from us. You have to go back and study the 19th century, since that was when it happened. The industrial revolution was a big thing back then, and most people were very optimistic about the future of the country and worked hard and went to church. However there were elites who were agaisnt it, and one of those was William Morris and another was John Ruskin. These were the elite Oxonians.

Do you think Earl Raab was talking about leadership when he wrote...
I wonder if Earl Raab foresaw the rise of radical Islam back in 1993? Surely a much greater threat to Jews these days than a notional Nazi-Aryan party which, like the oft-alleged "Far Right", has so far not deigned to exist.

As of yet, the United States does not have a radical Islam issue. Most of the Muslims (apart from black converts) are middle-class professionals and entrepreneurs from places like Lebanon, Iran and more recently, Afghanistan. They will have been admitted under the existing immigration scheme which prioritises migrants and especially families from historically 'underserved' countries. Unlike the UK, they don't have an open-door asylum policy admitting hundreds of thousands of single angry young men of military age.
But closer to home, a more perplexing question is why Jewish 'community leaders' including the BDBJ continue to extend a welcome to Muslim immigrants into the UK, most of whom are unlikely to have reciprocal warm feelings about Jews.

I think the purpose is encapsulated in this song. However, it is flawed, due to the tendencies to ghettoise rather than become homogenous. It is being manipulated by unelected agencies. Take a pinch of White man Wrap it up in Black skin Add a touch of blue blood And a little bitty-bit of Red Indian boy Curly Latin kinkies Mixed with yellow Chinkees If you lump it all together Well, you've got a recipe for a get-along scene Oh what a beautiful dream If it could only come true You know, you know CHORUS What we need is a great big melting pot Big enough to take the world and all it's got Keep it stirring for a hundred years or more And turn out coffee-coloured people by the score
Rabbis and the Friars Bishops and the Gurus You got The Beatles or the Sun God Well it really doesn't matter what religion you choose (Blue Mink c1969) And the highlighted line is the key. They want a shiftless, rootless, indistinguishable mass with no historical affinity for their country - controllable in other words. It's all about destroying individuality and any patriotic feelings.

I don't view such issues through the prism of my own personal needs and sensibilities. But how about you? What has mass-immigration done for you? Have you experienced any tangible benefits you can tell us about? More of a Members Bar question than a Mind Zone topic, but why not give it a go.

A number of responses in this thread have made a similar point. It would be interesting to learn about names, dates and places.
Or is the system operating on auto-pilot at this point, with no need for further human intervention?

Mass immigration has provided more competition in the job market. It has also provided friends and occasionally girlfriends. I'm not against immigrants, I just favour better management of migration. There are Chinese Triads in our country, Romanian pickpockets, and terrorist supporters in our country for goodness sake. Why do we allow the negatives?

They of course choose to remain anonymous.

Once again I did not say that the acceptance was nationwide but from my own experience it was largely accepted as being a fact of life. That was at the levels existent then and the problems were far away from most people. The concerns expressed through Griffiths and Powell were easily dismissed as racism. Of course people gradually changed their minds as the problems spread. I am also well aware that in order to mollify general public disquiet most governments paid lip service to a form of control and restriction. For my own case Blair was the eyeopener and when our local Labour MP was asked why they were bringing so many in we basically had a non-answer. Travelling throughout the Kingdom and speaking to people at steam rallies and events the subject is often broached by others as to how much they hate the widespread diversity thrust upon them.

I think the purpose of mass immigration is obvious - and has been for years. It's a simple (and cheap) way of undermining and destroying a country you don't like. But of course many will dismiss this as a "conspiracy theory", but there's no conspiracy required anymore. The internet allows anyone (clever) to destroy anyone (or any country) they want.
As to who's doing it, there are so many suspects. The Russians are obviously financing the extreme left in the UK and attempting to start a race war - which won't be difficult. They're also behind the daft "net zero" policy that is bankrupting us. Disinformation is the modern method of warfare.

I'm going to push this conversation out of the mundane you don't have to follow btw Why would a narcissist exert effort to destroy competence? What is the benefit to him?
