Back in the day, when dinosaurs ruled the earth and I was a lad, the police were big bastards. That cheery clip round the ear that they handed out because, well, that was what they did, would knock you arse over tea kettle. And it was no use complaining because, while your parents might hand out a bit of sympathy, secretly they thought that was what they paid their rates for.
But today...
We have a local copper and she is friendly and as pretty as a picture. But she is only about 4' tall and what use she would be in a ruck is beyond me.
And contrary to popular belief, the UK police don't have a height requirement. Or the public support they once had. So unless all the rioters have given upon and have taken vows to do as Starmer tells them, the next few days will be quite interesting

back in the 80s when it all kicked off then there was none of these mobile phone fanatics videoing what was happening, what the police forget it works both ways, not only do these phones capture the rioters, they also record the actions of the police, and on that basis most sensible people having watched the antics of the police at other protests like the pro-Palestine marches, we have all drawn the conclusion there is a two tier policing, even the Manchester Airport rioters kicking police cars attacking the police station ....... NO ARRESTS.

NO ARRESTS. At the pro Palestinian marches, no one attempts to set fire to Mosques, Churches or Synagogues or any place of worship. At the Pro Palestinian marches no one loots shops, attacks the police, sets fire to cars, smashes shop windows or attempts to burn down hotels or smash up universities or public buildings. Yes, its a different kind of policing for peacefull protest as opposed to riot and disorderly and violent conduct, but its certainly not two tier policing. |
