I have two video frames to show you of a Sky News report into riots.
In psychology there is this idea of foreground and background. The foreground is where the attention is focused, where the background is additional information the subconscious picks up, but not the conscious mind. An example would be Rishi announcing an election. The foreground was the idea an election was being announced, and the background was the rain. The rain coloured the perception of the message. Media broadcasters are well aware of how this works, so they arrange the backgrounds accordingly. Well everyone except Rishi - lol! The man could not run a tap.
Anyway it is interesting to focus one's attention on the background in News reports, since here we can see what they really want us to believe. A racial riot is a great one to see this in action.
Frame one is at 1:40 (this should cue up to this place automatically)
Top right graffiti says
Migrants no more
fascist [censored word blurred out]
Obviously it could be racist.
Now move to frame 2:06
Bottom left
Drown Fascists
Execute the Gammon
So there you have it. One comment is inciting something or other, but inciting murder is allowed if it is the Brits. I wonder how the law perceives this. It would be interesting to put as complaint into the police that Sky News are breaking the criminal law.
