I see in the press that the govt actually is now looking at introducing a new definition of islamophobia. This would basically re-introduce a law against blasphemy - but only in the case of islam. This would be a monumental mistake and make discussion of the 7th century unreformed "din" of islam impossible. ANybody who even says that islam is incompatible with British values would be subject to hate crime laws. link |

Starmer is so politically inept and understands so little about what's going on in this country - and why people are rioting - that I'm absolutely sure that he is going to approve the APPG definition of "Islamophobia". The Labour party has already approved it so it's pretty obvious that this will be his next step. So in one move he will effectively reinstate the blasphemy law - but only for Islam. So anyone who is critical of islam - for example someone who says that islam is incompatible with British culture - will be guilty of a hate crime. Insane. The next thing he'll do is to agree dynamic realignment with the EU, thus undermining the biggest democratic mandate that the UK has ever had - the 17.4 million who voted to take back control. And I see that Lammy has effectively stopped the supply of arms to Israel - one of our oldest allies. Starmer is so in hoc to the muslims that he'll do anything to curry favour with them. I agree, but never underestimate the power or faith of the Jews ..
