Don't think that anyone has actually mentioned the law, so I'm unsure as to your point?

And that is the rub. it could be interpreted that way. What happened to intent, deliberate intent. It shouldn't be possible to be racist by accident. I think we agree other than your last sentence. It's of course possible to say something racist without intent. That doesn't make you a racist though. I remind you the lady lost her position. A severe punishment for accidental racism. This is no longer a game.

Who said that apart from you? I'm referring to the bit of the transcript where she says that she is from London, where Lady Hussey then says where are you really from. Well surely you can see her confusion?. The girl in question pretends to be from Africa so the old dear quite naturally wants to know what part of Africa - it's not the old dears fault that the girl in question has no connection to Africa at all, she being from North London and all that.

I don't disagree. I'm sure that I posted earlier that she said it out of ignorance. Whether she is actually a racist or not is not proven. But her statement could be interpreted as being racist, as the insinuation is that you can't be British if you're black, which of course we know isn't true. Being racist is actually not a criminal offence unless it transgresses the race laws which none of this appeared to do. The 'victim' may have been upset and violated but then that is just part of normal social intercourse for many people with a host of put downs to do with height, weight, dress, speech, accent, type of car you drive, your wife, your children, your last golf round and the 10, 0 drubbing by Mancaster Rovers. I must have missed someone calling for her to be prosecuted. Who did that? Allowed to resign, sure, but prosecuted that's just a strawman.

Who inside the Palace could support her after what she said?

But if I accidentally made a comment which could be construed as racist at work, I would also expect a disciplinary. Well you shouldn't. A simple apology made without coercion should be proof enough of innocence for a first offence. How long before anyone can claim they find anything offensive. From my point of view it would have to be considered offensive to a majority of the public to involve discipline.

The point is why is it a social offence that calls for the ultimate sanction of enforced resignation most especially if it was inadvertent as this certainly seems to be. In other words what makes it special?

The social crime of asking a person, who deliberately dresses herself to look like she is from Africa, where she comes from.
This is real rubber room stuff

This is real rubber room stuff Once again how is someone dressed in a leopard print dress someone dressed in African dress? Probably not if it is the latest fashion, but somebody who happens to have black skin calling themselves Ngozi Fulani with a London accent might be very well get asked the question where are you from originally. Personally I wouldn't because making small talk at royal promotions is not my thing.

Once again how is someone dressed in a leopard print dress someone dressed in African dress? They might be wearing other items that suggest they are African or want their African heritage to be noticed / prominent. It's low tier trolling to go to this effort and get offended if people ask.

Was you asked 9 times where your from ? Did you ask the Afican nurses 9 times where she was from? My 83 year old gran often got our names mixed up, and repeatedly asked who we were, like most decent families and people with moral fiber you have empathy for them, obviously this black woman has little or no respect for her elders, instead she humiliates the old dear. Now there was you ranting less than 24 hours ago. You never ever ever ever bring colour into it. On another post you have just had several reminders where you did. I did not even go back as far as the date on this one. As you ranted put up or shut up at another posters. Can you actually recall what you do post.
