I'm not sure. If he's also making lots of money for his clients I'd say that was OK. After all his clients are free to remove their money from his funds if they can get better returns elsewhere.
What does annoy me is when a fund manager does a shit job and STILL pays himself large amounts of money. Some years ago I invested £20k in an Aberdeen fund of "Zeroes" - which are usually very low risk but deliver better returns than building society accounts. Unfortunately this guy was an idiot and the fund lost ALL the money in under a year. Yet the manager still awarded himself a multimillion pound bonus. That was seriously annoying.

Yes I agree, if a fund manager is making lots of money for his clients and he is getting paid lots of money for his efforts, so what. But honestly, isn't £1.5 million a day excessive?

I don't begrudge the man a few million, but that much ? He's just keeping up with the Musks. That's ridiculous.

I am the only person that read the full article?
You all read the clickbait title and first paragraph then assumed your normal outraged position. Unfortunately for you, you missed several vital points to the article, which are of course hidden towards the bottom lol.
1) It clearly said he took the money out to invest in one of his other companies. 2) "Hohn is also one of the UK’s biggest philanthropists, and has pumped more than £4bn into his personal children’s charity. In recent years he has also taken on the cause of the climate crisis, promising to use his fund’s $35bn of investments to “force change on companies who refuse to take their environmental emissions seriously”.
Then you even talk about Musk, who famously lives a frugal lifestyle and ploughs all his cash into his next ventures. He could have retired when he sold PayPal... instead he went onto found and invest his fortune in Telsa, SpaceX, Starlink, Neuralink, SolarCity.
The article is about as dumb as saying Musk paid himself $44b, then neglect to mention that he bought Twitter with it lol.

If I were investing in a fund and the manager was syphoning off money to “force change on companies who refuse to take their environmental emissions seriously”, I'd remove my money immediately.

I read the article, where does it say Hohn doesn't pay himself £1.5 million a day? You clearly didn't because you are trying to say he took the money out for personal gain, ie "when is enough, enough". If the article had him taking his millions, then showed him buying a new yacht / mansion / demonstrated a lavish lifestyle... then that would fit your narrative, but he didn't do that did he, he was moving money between his businesses. You talk about the bit you found outrageous, then ignored that it was a business decision, and then ignored his philanthropy lol. Again, "The article is about as dumb as saying Musk paid himself $44b, then neglect to mention that he bought Twitter with it lol".

I'm sure I read somewhere that the guy was putting all the money into his Childrens Charity.

Somebody put it beautifully on social media the other day...
"The Left in the UK want Nordic levels of public services, on US levels of taxation".
All this talk of "tax the billionaires more" and introduce a "wealth tax" is just fairytale economics designed to take responsibility away from the general population.
