I just wish that prominent politicians and public intellectuals of a higher calibre than Tommy Robinson would pluck up the courage to express such sentiments. He is, let's face it, a busted flush these days.

Labour realised how far out of hand they have let it go when Labour MPs had their lives threatened by the Muslim community, Jess Philips couldn't help but hide her contempt for the Muslim men who jeered her when she won the Birmingham Yardly seat, she basically said ... you hate women getting on...
They realise themselves how dangerous these Muslim extremists are becoming, otherwise most of them would have been spouting their usual racists chants at the mention of Tommy Robinson's name.

But MOST white, British people do not support Tommy Robinson, and MOST British Muslims do not support Islamic extremists.
This is not a binary issue, there is no "one side or the other", in my book if you do not accept British values, those of Tolerance, Freedom of Religion, Democracy, Equality and Free Speech within the parameters of incitement of hatred or civil unrest .... then piss off and live in Russia or Iran.

I would not say he is a busted flush but he is easy meat for those searching for reasons to denigrate him and who are far less tolerant of some on the right than those who obviously spout hate about almost anything within Islam. The fact that he comes across as a rough speaker is used against him time and again and having a history of not giving in to intimidation marks him as dangerous and to be watched. |
