www.politico.eu/europe-poll-of-polls/united-kingdom/Not much of a move I will admit. but in the last month the Tory vote has climbed 4% and Reform and UKIP 1% each, while Labour has fallen 4% and the Lib Dems 1% The brothers and sisters are still miles ahead, but the gap does appear to be closing

Their stupid leader has done a Corbyn. He's put the electorate in a quandary which says if you don't vote for your slave driver Tories you will have your House of Lords destroyed, which is so old it is like a part of the British identity.
Why could he not have just had sensible ideas, as per the constructive type like how to fix our energy problems and that kind of thing? Instead he is a destroyer and wishes to smash stuff up. This appeals to the militarism of the UK where to fix something is to destroy something, never to build something.

But the Tory vote is still climbing. Clearly we should import more Indian PMs

It should be reformed at least.

Yes I don't mind some reforms to get rid of the dodgy appointments, but the whole point of it is to use the experience of successful people in industry who offer their wisdom. Even Peter Mandelson thinks the idea to make it a second elected chamber is illogical. Starmer seems to have suffered a brain haemorrhage. You see the electorate see one totally stupid thing and then they fear if Labour get in then how many more dumb things will they be hit with. Trust with Labour is not great and is why they are out of power. I thought Starmer was doing pretty well until this point. Maybe is was some idiot in the party who came up with it and Starmer is kind of power sharing with others.

The Indians are now smarter than the Brits. Take a look at who the lawyers are these days. It's nearly all Indians, and ditto with computer programmers. India has never been that smart, and most of it is a shithole to prove it, but Brits have sunk like a stone.

Labour are doing too well. Many of us Remainers want to see a Labour/Lib Dem coalition. A 4% increase in popularity isn't good enough, Sunak. Must do better.

Starmer idea to abolish the house of Lords with gain a lot of public support.
These million and billionaire has beens have been bleeding the taxpayers for way to long.
Making the Lords an elected chamber is bonkers though.
Two elected houses would mean legislation wouldn't be able to pass without consent from one another.
In its current form the Lords do not block legislation passed by the commons as a rule, because its an elected chamber.
Imagine the constitutional chaos if BOTH houses were elected!
As for "moving to the right" er we have always been a right wing country.
Left wing politics have always been rejected by the electorate.
Tories have Been the most elected party in our history since they are right wing.
Labour was in power for 15 years under Blair & Brown because they were right wing.
Foot & Corbyn were left wingand got absolutely trashed by the electorate.
