God help us,so he’s going to give more powers to mayors. Great so that’s more excuses to have our pockets picked by people like effing Burnham who can’t wait to replace Starmer. link

They have no mandate to interfere in the constitutional matters of the UK and this is an obvious attempt to divide and break England, which isn't any different to what the last Labour regime attempted to do. Devolution for England only requires an English Parliament. Scotland's Tony Blair is pulling the strings with his IRA mates.

There is no need of "Celtic representation" with devolution. cut the number of mps , save money , bring in laws to abolish university graduates becoming careerist benchwarmers , end the House of Lords , and turn it into a four hundred seat council of the British isles with powers over defence , perhaps foreign policy. The status quo is intolerable to all of us. labour like the tories care not a jot about ordinary people , but merely wish to devolve responsibility rather than true power.

More than a grain of truth in that, when things go tits up “Not us Guv Bloggs is in charge” look at the history of the devolved parliaments.and Westminster . one blames the other , its ways someone else fault. Labour and tory have cottoned onto the fact they can pass the buck while centralising all the real powers in London for them to tinker with , and it doesn't matter if you pass the buck to Holyrood , the lord provost of glesga , or Andy burnham in Manchester. The principle is the same. Empty slogans are flying through the air relentlessly at the minute ,less than week on from starmers no mandate election. I despair.

England is a Kingdom of the UK, either create an ENGLISH PARLIAMENT or better still abolish devolution altogether. The UK doesn't need it.
The UK does need direct democracy.

England is a Kingdom of the UK, either create an ENGLISH PARLIAMENT or better still abolish devolution altogether. The UK doesn't need it. The UK does need direct democracy. you have an English parliament. Boris Johnson told you that it's Westminster. Why create another parliament , when all you have to do is restrict the commons to English mps , taking starmers English laws one step further , and taking it back to what it was pre 16th century , before the welsh representatives were added under Henry 8th , and then , abolish the lords , which will stop tory and labour stuffing it full of cronies , and set up a an equal representative council of the British isles with 100 reps apiece for the four nations. saving money , saving time , saving building costs , and making do with the parliaments and buildings already in existence. so you say Vinny until direct democracy gives you something you dont like , then its back to the padded cell dreaming about killing people and abolishing everything you dont agree with.

Germany is divided into 16 states ("republics") each with their own Parliament. As an East Anglian by origin I would support a "separatist" movement (my G G Grandfather was remanded in custody for opposing the central government and was lucky not end up on the gallows).
