By building a coalition to stop Le Pen they now have the job of different parties needing to form a government. This means it is likely to be unstable and might mean Le Pen could block legislation and make it largely unworkable. [br Explain how le pen can block legislation,

They had the second round its over and done with Until the next election. You aren't recognising that. In the mean time they hold a lot of power and influence. France needs moderate Euroskeptics to do to them what UKIP did to the BNP. Reform are the new BNP Nigel

Thanks to a complicated PR voting system in France, Le Penn may yet have the last laugh. They had the second round its over and done with It's far from over and done with. There is political chaos in France at the moment, Macron is weak, his prime minister has tendered his resignation which Macron refused because he needs him, riots have already started due to the left conspiring against Le Penn, and just to add to Macrons headache the Olympics start in a couple of weeks. It's going to get messy. Like I said, Le Penn may yet have the last laugh.

How is it a defeat when they're growing, they've pushed Macron to the brink, and there'll be more elections? The RN won the French part of their EU elections, his response was to call this election, their vote has gone up, their seat count has gone up, and the French assembly is now a hung Parliament. The next French President could be a member of the Rassemblement National, so how is this a defeat? It's a temporary setback for them and not a very big setback. And in the Presidential elections, in 2017 Macron got 20 million votes Le Pen got ten million votes. In 2022 he got 18.7 million votes, she got 13.28 million votes. Get complacent and she'll get in. This was not a defeat for them, they are growing. 2022 French Legislative election: LREM 5,857,364 RN 4,248,537 2024 first round: LR (Macron's party) 2,568,502 RN (Le Pen's party) 10,647,914 second round: LR 1,474,723 RN 10,110,013 This looks dangerous to me. This looks every bad for France. I don't know why you're laughing.

Reform are the new BNP Nigel No, they are not, but I realise that the far left's requirement for an enemy to scapegoat for everything meant they demonised Reform anyway and tried to frame them. The BNP had a policy of ending all immigration plus deportation of blacks Asians and other ethnic minorities. Nigel destroyed them by offering ordinary non racist people concerned by immigration & by the EU an alternative to them. France doesn't have an equivalent of Nigel and without the BNP to point a finger at, your requirement for an enemy to blame for everything, has got you going bonkers.

Le Pen = Le Farage = Far right in pseudo populist broadcast speech.
Now if France were FPTP then Le Pen would have won.
Farage = dodo.
