I can confirm that we are not on the highest state of military alert and are not preparing to launch an attack on Russia. You can be sure that there are certainly rehearsed plans to confront a Russian aggressor if Putin were to attack NATO. The UK is on threat level ‘substantial’, due to a concern of a terrorist attack, but that would be from Jhihadists, not Russians. NATO however is capable of turning Russia to glass if Russia nukes a sovereign NATO nation. |

I havent read the barons post, o i mean dub, i can guess whats in there. Putins tactics are at fault, that of a creeping invasion, or invasions, rather than a quick one. If he attacked Poland rather than the Ukraine, the west would not have been ready, but he thinks he can bull his way into world domination.
The west can see it coming.
The free world has been suffering from incredulity, that this is happening at all, and because the west can see it coming, god knows whats pointing at the spot where Putin stands, they know where he is. The chance Putin had, that what the nazis called lightening war, has gone. Im not convinced that even if Russia fired a rocket at the west whether it would get very far.

Grozny 2000, a few months after Putin bombed his own people framed the Chechens (who were independent and had no motive to attack Russia). Chechnya is rich in oil gas and coal and that was the real reason for the invasion by Putin's corrupt mafia government.
Journalists who wrote anything critical of the Russian government were murdered. Alexander Litvinenko was murdered with Polonium 210 from a Russian nuclear power station. Once he realised he'd been poisoned he followed Army training procedure to make himself sick. It bought him more time, he solved his own murder before he died. Like Chechnya, Ukraine has been under attack since the 2000's, first their politicians were attacked. Viktor Yuschenko was poisoned in 2004 and the West did nothing.  At the 2008 NATO Budapest summit, Putin threatened Ukraine, in violation of the Russia Ukraine Friendship Treaty of 1997, the Budapest Memorandum of 1994 and the UN Charter. The same year he stole South Osetia through force of arms and the West did nothing. Years of appeasement encouraged and emboldened Putin, he felt he could do anything and nobody would touch him as he has nukes. He's a bully. He's now finding out that he cannot bully Ukraine without consequences. Thank fuck the West finally took a stand against that murderer. And thank fuck Sweden and Finland gave him the finger too. |
