Sovereignty eh? Translate to mean a bunch of public schoolboys took over the staffroom because they thought they could tell the rest of the school some cock and Bull lies about how they would lower the price of lollipops at the tuck shop and ignore the national curriculum. Well it took some 15 years for the average child to realise that fairy tales lies and after hours drinks parties in the dorm don't run a school. πππππ Sovereignty demands stability, intelligence, a seat at the table and the interests of the people in your sovereign land. None of which was provided by the idiots who sold you lies and told you would. And you fell for it. This will be my last entry here. It has been fun. I could say I hope you all learned something about the real world but I doubt it is worth my time. Cheerio. Brexit restored our sovereignty - we can now do basically what we want without being blocked by the EU. That's all it did. It doesn't mean that our politicians will now do anything sensible - but at least we can boot them out, unlike with the EU Commission. Unfortunately we now have to face up to the fact that 75% of our politicians are idiots and want to go back into the EU. Just like a dog returns to its vomit. I voted for Brexit. I did so because I was tired of there being an undercurrent of "we'd like to do X but the EU will not let us" being used to cover up for the incompetence of our MPs and their disdain for the electorate except during a GE campaign. You are right, 75% of our MPs are idiots, but not for wanting to re-join the EU. In fact, although I voted for Brexit, I'd vote to re-join the EU if, and it is a big IF, the deal was the right deal - which we know won't happen, primarily because the vast majority of our MPs put party and posturing way above practicality and public-service. All The Best

All The Best The EU is not interested in what the citizen wants its only programme is to bind, in part by mollification of the electorate, but mainly through Bureaucracy and fear. It carries with it the political class and their executive skills. Expansion brought an inability to effectively change anything in a meaningful way and the illusion of democracy is basically just tinkering around the edges. It will never be in any way a major benefit to any citizens living within its grasp and it always has the ability to slip over into outright authoritarianism. You have to ask the question are German citizens better off now than they were in 1957 or has their country changed for the worse, many seem to think as a society they are buggered.
