Three, or maybe four, seats had been declared and France 24 was intently focussed on the fact Farage’s party had come second in them and what that would mean. And the vote to leave the EU was never really about the economy - it was about sovereignty. Even so it's remarkable IMO how little difference leaving the EU has made to our economy. We were told that it would destroy trade with the EU - but, in capital terms, we now do more trade with the EU countries than before. And there have been none of the food shortages that were threatened by the remoaners. We're also now doing better than the likes of France and Germany. Instead of whingeing all the time oracle75 I suggest you open your eyes and embrace our new direction. |

Brexit restored our sovereignty - we can now do basically what we want without being blocked by the EU. That's all it did. It doesn't mean that our politicians will now do anything sensible - but at least we can boot them out, unlike with the EU Commission. Unfortunately we now have to face up to the fact that 75% of our politicians are idiots and want to go back into the EU. Just like a dog returns to its vomit. |
