In drawing attention to Starmer's remarks about trying to keep Friday evenings free from prime-ministerial duties in order to spend time with his Jewish family.
The implication is that Starmer is intending to be a part-time prime minister, with senior Jewish figures saying that the Tories decision to target such a culturally significant time of the week – Starmer’s wife, Victoria, comes from a Jewish family – was ill-judged, and deeply unfair and 'horribly stigmatising'.
In the unlikely event that a future prime minister were a commited Christian, what would be the liberal reaction to he or she stating an intention to keep Sunday mornings aside for religious reasons?

One has to question why supposedly intelligent people keep aside time to seek help from an entity, or to consider that entity, for which the evidence for that entity's existence is at best miniscule and heavily reliant on the words mainly of one man or a group of men. Respecting people's right to do that is of course paramount but it is not part of that necessity to respect what they believe. If he wishes to do it it fine, if a Christian wishes to do it fine but demanding respect for doing it most certainly is not fine. If Jews or Christians or any other religion find that difficult then that lies in the land of 'tough'.

I do believe that people are forgetting or overlooking one very powerfull word in what Keir Starmer said, and that word is "TRY.
He stated that he will - TRY - to keep Friday evenings for his family, meaning of course that he may not always be able to spend time on Friday evenings with his family. A crisis might arise, a problem or issue of national importance, an emergency, something that requires immediate attention or consideration.
If this is the best that opponents of Keir Starmer can do, then you have well and truly lost any credibility.

I think it is always a good plan to set aside some downtime, whether it is Sunday for Chrisitans or from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset for Jews, or any other day of the week so that people know you will generally NOT be contactable. No one can work 168 hours a week.

"Reform Judaism, a religious movement that has modified or abandoned many traditional Jewish beliefs, laws, and practices in an effort to adapt Judaism to the changed social, political, and cultural conditions of the modern world".
It is said that this variety of Judaism evolved from the philosophy of Immanuel Kant ... who described himself as a theist ... his early religious background being Lutheran. Kant's influence was such that he is sometimes called "Rabbi Kant".
It is reasonable to suppose that Orthodox Jews do not accept Reform Judaism as being "Jewish" because of this "Christian influence".
Karl Marx's father was a Jewish convert to Lutheranism.
Luther himself was an anti-Semite.
Starmer is an atheist.

The Guardian (in the OP) lecturing the Tories on engaging in political smearing?? … that’s a tad ironic and hypocritical don’t you think?? …remembering what The Guardian(and BBC/CH4) did to Brexiteers and Farage?
Starmer’s wife is Jewish!!!??! …. Aaaaarrggghhhhhhh! … nobody told me. … but now I know …
… surely another reason NOT to vote LABOUR?? …. it’s got the SYNOD nagging STARMER to do this and that to the British … 24/7 365 … and over the breakfast table EVERY MORNING … Jesus help us. 🤯🤬
If you wanted your Country to be crucified …. ruled by Netanyahu moral thinking … and their genocidal tendencies rolled out across the World … Vote LABOUR …..
…. IF you want it ruled by ISLAMIC bullying and the WEF of Schwarb … and have their World Domination and Eastern expansionism reinforced … Vote TORY … $unak and €ameron revisited.
(And that is coming from a forum member who recently thinks from research his ancestors were Jewish refugees fleeing Eastern persecution … changed their surname … and became Christians!)
We need to be voting for REAL CHANGE … not more of the same wolves wrapped up in sheep’s clothing.
Voting Labour/Tory is a WASTED VOTE … unless you think everything is tickety-boo … and the running of the UK is going fine … and no ‘fine tuning’ is necessary.
Beware of the Tory’s Home Secretary …that *unt Hunt … sticking up memorials to just the Muslim war dead of WW2 in London … with Labour approval … when all WW2 memorials already represent ALL people irrespective of religious belief.
Few muslims of this generation will fight in future Tory/Labour/Deep State wars … and don’t need more ‘elevation’ …. so why give these modern day muslim refuseniks a place to congregate and stir up more trouble??
VOTE REFORM … and be openly against ALL Religious interference in our Politics!🤣👍 … applied to ALL denominations! 👍 … even Christians.
