A Labour frontbencher has refused to answer eight times when asked which lavatory she thinks a trans woman with a penis should use. Nick Ferrari on LBC asked Bridget Phillipson to clarify her stance on whether trans women should be able to use women’s lavatories. Earlier this week she suggested they should be able to use the women’s lavatory, but on Thursday morning she was unwilling to say. The trans debate has become a key battleground in the election, with the Conservatives accusing Labour of failing to protect women’s rights. www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2024/06/27/public-lavatories-trans-women-labour-frontbencher-no-answer/I'll let you into an open secret; Labour have clear plans on all aspects of this gender madness but they dare not mention them until after 4th July.

China tolerant of trans ? “ Such examples are an indication of the state’s systemic failure to protect gender minorities, particularly trans and queer people, say advocates. They say they also highlight the challenges of being LGBTQ+ in a country where the ruling party is increasingly pushing for conformity and traditional values. In recent years, China’s LGBTQ+ community has been swept up in the Chinese Communist party’s broader crackdown on civil society and freedom of expression. In May 2023, a well known LGBTQ+ advocacy group in Beijing announced it was closing due to “unavoidable” circumstances. Last February, two university students filed a lawsuit against the education ministry after they were punished for distributing rainbow flags on campus.” www.theguardian.com/global-development/2024/jan/15/its-difficult-to-survive-chinas-lgbtq-advocates-face-jail-and-forced-confession?CMP=Share_iOSApp_OtherThe Guardian doesn’t think so.

Which kind of refutes the line of many lefties that only right wingers are bothered about trans rights .

If fully grown adults want to have the op, and they are fully informed and fully aware of what it means for them (becoming a eunuch), let them pay for their operations. But hospitals in the NHS are for treating cancer patients etc.
And nobody "needs" IVF either. So don't provide that on the NHS whether it be to heterosexual couples or homosexual couples. Let them go private.

Shocked - Starmer gives a straight answer for once.. That's where I differ: I think that someone who has legally and physically transitioned should have that right.
What I (and all sensible people) object to is Dave with a dick calling himself a woman today and accessing female only spaces.
That's my issue with faux-trans people.

That's my issue with faux-trans people. Exactly. Once we accept that a man cannot be defined as a woman solely on the grounds that he thinks he is, then we can look at ways of facilitating an acceptance of ‘ trans women ‘ that might work.
