I really don't think that the electorate take much notice of smears. I am old enough to remember politicians here saying in public at least that negative campaigning was counter productive. Of course that was back when policies were rather different |

About half a century ago the liberals had a document explaining to candidates that they didn't have to justify their attack on an opponent's policy with a detailed one of their own which would work. The best they could hope for was opposition and as such their job was to highlight the flaws in an opponent's manifesto policies
Farage will never get enough to get the call to swear the oath of fealty and take his seat in number ten.
But he is ideally placed to rip the opponent's policies apart
Hence all the big guys have is smear tactics

It’s all very well to ascribe racism and right wing fascism to those who think reform have a place in this country,if you look at the state of the nhs,the blood scandal,the postmasters wrongfully convicted all under the the tenure of the three main parties and it’s clear to me for those and many other reasons Westminster needs an overhaul. This has echoes from a very recent thread where it was said that all pensioners pay less council tax which is obviously false, the idea that those who see a place for reform in the political process doesn’t make them either far right,racist or extremists.But calling someone an "effing P*ki"" - or seeing nothing wrong in doing so - does. |

But it appears that the person who did so was working as part of a Channel 4 sting operation, I think the truth will out on this one, Richard Tice is pretty sure that he has evidence that will lead to legal actions against C4 for attempted electoral interference.
Not that you will allow facts to get in the way of your narrative I'm sure.
