Of course he's British, he was born in Southampton. Fairsociety claims he's a foreigner because he's not a Christian. Stop making things up, how's the Boeing 737 going ...LOL Except that was exactly what you claimed yesterday. Have you forgotten already? 🤣

No, but labelling someone who sees nothing wrong with calling a Jew an "effing y*d" or sees nothing wrong with anyone else doing so an antisemite definitely would be. Labour party member or not. And just to be clear. I do not assume that everyone willing to lend an ear or their support to Reform is a racist. But they definitely do attract the racist vote and racists and phobes of various kinds appear to be happy in the party. Farage himself boast abouts how he destroyed the BNP. How do you think he did it? By using the power of persuasion to convince their supporters that their racism was misguided? Or by dog whistling their support for racism themselves but being less overt about it in order to both appear more respectable on the surface, and attract non-racist supporters too? It is definitely the latter. Scratch the surface of Reform and it is obvious where most of the former BNP support has gone. Do they appeal to you by any chance? I know you are not a racist, unlike a few others in this thread, but there are many policy offerings that have nothing to do with racism. Do you like the idea of still more cuts to public services and welfare to fund more tax cuts using dodgy sums? An insurance based model for the NHS? Let's be clear here. I myself very much like their idea of raising the basic rate threshold to £20k. It would help low paid working people like me a lot. I just don't believe that it is remotely deliverable any time soon without substantial tax increases elsewhere, or swingeing cuts to public services already on their knees. Or both. And voting for a bunch of racists because they promise to deliver for ordinary people, whilst overlooking, denying, or minimising their racism, is exactly what the Germans did in the early 30s. Fortunately, the decent majority here which abhors bigotry will never make that mistake. Calling someone an "effing P*ki will repel most decent people. And the supporters of Reform clearly don't get that even if the guy who said it was a plant, they themselves being all over the internet - including here - making light of it, agreeing with it or seeing nothing wrong with it are themselves - many barely concealed racists - just proving the point and broadcasting for all to see that the cancer of racism is alive and kicking inside Reform and amongst substantial chunks of it's support base. If the guy who made the comment is a plant, they are doing his job for them and playing into his hands. This very thread is serving to demonstrate that. And the more this breaks the surface or is uncovered the more decent people will be repelled by Reform. The racists out there will love it of course. Their support for Reform will be rock solid. But there are just not enough such knuckle draggers out there to deliver a real electoral breakthrough. However over-represented they are on this forum. And you personally, whilst not a racist yourself and generally being economically progressive when in sensible mode, have a pronounced tendency to be attracted to right wing populist causes whilst overlooking any inherent flaws, minimising them, or engaging in overt whataboutery, which you did above in the comments I am responding to. No I’m not racist but the whataboutery is as I’ve always maintained a tool used to close down others arguments. There is racism and loony's in all the parties and I’m not swayed by so called populism, I see it neither as racist nor populist to be worried about the uncontrolled influx. Not far from where I live there is a sizeable community whose origins are Afro Caribbean and it might surprise how many of them share the same concerns. It depends on the reasons. Racists definitely worry about too many immigrants for racist reasons, though that does not mean that all worries about immigration is a sign of racism. I do not believe that legitimate concerns about too many people coming here is automatically racist. So I don't know why you are trying to persuade me of that when I accept it already. However, calling someone of Asian ethnicity an "effing P*ki" is totally racist. But even if he is a plant and there is no evidence for that yet beyond an assertion, supporters belittling the comment as no big deal, just banter, just ordinary chat are themselves demonstrating their own racism, because you have to be a racist not to see that calling someone an "effing P*ki" is unacceptable. Racist language is only ever acceptable in the minds of fellow racists. So Reform supporters all over the highways and byways of the internet are beavering away proving his point that a lot of racists support Reform. Including half a dozen racist scumbags on this very forum, in this very thread. You may not be one of them but you are totally failing to recognise them for what they are. If someone were to call Starmer's Jewish wife an "effing y*d" would you and all other decent people not be condemning such appalling racism? So why do you have such a blind spot when people here are seeking to portray as no big deal calling an ethnic Asian an "effing P*ki"?

The problem is Reform supporters all over the internet - including here - have been seeking to belittle and minimise the nature of the racist comments, thereby showcasing their own innate racism. If it is a plant they are surely proving the point themselves anyway. And Channel 4 News and most other broadcast media has a far more reputable reputation for truth telling and exposure of unwelcome facts than any politicians of any political persuasion. So for me to actually buy this apparently Trump style assertion I need to see evidence and the fact that the guy occasionally did some small bit acting is just not it. If he was a plant reasonable people want to see evidence of that. What were his motives, who put him up to it, how did Channel 4 come to be involved?. Without any demonstrable chain of evidence, merely a few circumstantial assumptions, I will not be dismissing my first thought that many of you are a bunch of racists talking out of the wrong orifices.

They have quite rightly pointed out that he is a plant because they don’t agree with him. Otherwise they wouldn’t be so keen to disassociate themselves, would they ?

Have you forgotten already? 🤣 The knuckle dragging fraternity that share this forum with us are just not very bright. What this forum seems to demonstrate in spades is that, albeit with exceptions here and there, being right wing really does often go hand in hand with both ignorance and stupidity. It does around here anyway. They are probably mourning the temporary departure of that intellectual giant Jonksy.

I think his way of expressing this is certainly open to assertions of racism, though he has yet to call a white politician an "effing honky". Indeed in your response to me you have not addressed that comment at all, merely indulged in yet more whataboutery that effectively ignores that and instead says what about this guy instead. Whataboutery is deflection designed to avoid comment and shift the discourse elsewhere rather than actually address the point in hand. Until you do so you will not get much from me about anything else you attempt to divert the discussion on to. Do you regard calling someone an effing P*ki unacceptable or not? Is it in your view racist language? If not, why not? If so, why do you see no problem with obvious racists in this thread belittling it as no big deal? And instead do what they so often do and try and change the subject with a convenient bit of whataboutery?

This is highly disingenuous of you. I have never said that you regard the comment as acceptable. I have said that others around here seem to have no problem with it. What I have said is that in your responses to me you have not yourself expressed any condemnation for such racist language or those who seek to defend it, instead trying to change the subject with whataboutery. If I want to talk about the Labour candidate for Clacton, some twat who said something stupid in some other party or whatever it might be I would join a thread about it or start one of my own....the subject matter here is the acceptability or otherwise of calling someone an "effing P*ki". Until that is addressed by you I will not be discussing your other preferred topics here. When you do address it we can maybe have a sensible discussion that takes full account of those other related issues and persons. Not today though. I honestly thought you were a more honest debater than this, and since I feel rather irritated at your transparent obfuscations I will say goodnight to you and maybe return tomorrow. Right now I feel a yearning to be off to relax. Enjoy your evening.
