I'm not a fan of Wetherspoons, but found the Ch4 News item most entertaining. I watched it before you put it up in fact. These guys are just Londoners and Londoners are just the same now as they were when I used to know them, except they don't live in London any more. It is indeed how they feel about the ones who forced them out of their native home. They want them to all fuck off, not to put a to finer point on it, that is the general sentiment. Now deal with it. |

It's unfortunate but no biggie, this is little more than Channel 4 doing what Channel 4 do. All parties have canvassers and canvassers are unvetted volunteers who push leaflets through letter boxes. Perhaps thanks to Channel 4's muckraking all canvassers will in future, regardless of the cost, have to go through vetting procedure. Btw, Farage insists this is a set up. He claims this canvasser, Andrew Parker, is in fact an actor. Naturally Channel 4 deny this. But Andrew Parker is an actor who has a very clipped well spoken accent. It seems the pressure on Channel 4 over this sting is growing. They have been forced to issue a statement denying they knew Andrew Parker was an actor or that they paid him.
A lefty plot to smear Reform UK comming unstuck? Time will tell.

I note that Rishi's getting stuck into Nige about the racist and misogynistic attitudes of some his followers.
According to the Times, Rishi's especially put out about being referred to as a 'f***ing P**i' since it brings back bad memories of the time in his youth when he and his siblings were similarly abused in a Macdonalds in Southampton.
The BS-meter gave a momentary twitch. Hindus in McDonalds? What were they there for? The fish sandwich? The salad bar? Did either even exist in days of yore?

There appear to have been more than one complaint, but this is the one reported in the Times: "...When Sunak was told on Thursday afternoon that a Reform UK canvasser had described him as a “f***ing P***” it brought back visceral memories of an incident during his childhood. The future prime minister was with his younger brother and sister on a trip to McDonald’s in Southampton when they were racially abused using exactly the same language. This time he was determined to call it out. Reform UK has made an official complaint against Channel 4 over 'electoral interference' after claiming the broadcaster used an actor as a 'plant' during an undercover sting.
Adam Richardson the Reform secretary, said in a letter to the Electoral Commission that it was 'entirely evident' that a Reform activist filmed making a string of sickening racist remarks was 'a plant within the Channel 4 News piece'.
Adam Richardson said; It is wholly unbelievable that by complete coincidence Channel 4 were performing an undercover investigation and by chance bumped into a canvasser who was pretending to be someone else using a false voice and saying almost exclusively racist and bigoted remarks.
I sincerely hope the Electoral Commission take this complaint seriously.
