Shows that the Tories don't have all the idiots... Well, not since they've been returning to Labour to try an maintain their cushy careers.

Plenty have become independent, but have more than a couple switched parties...?

Himself To lose As you sow and all that linkAnd quite right too. I hear he'd also donated to the party, and said donation has been duly returned. What an idiot. 🙄

How many are called Kevin Craig? Apologies — I hadn’t realised this thread was following non-binary/non-gendering pronoun rules…

Poor old Labour they wanted to make a meal of the Tory betting scandal, just like they did partygate until beergate happened ... not forgetting twohomesRayner who was forever calling the Tories out on their tax bills .... LOL..if I was Labour I'd tell everyone to keep their double standard hypocritical mouths closed, because they keep putting their foot in it.

I really do not believe that there is even the remotest of reasonable comparisons between some of the alleged rule breaking by those close to Rishi Sunak and what Kevin Craig has done.
Been a Tory insider close to the Primeminister, or a member of his protection squad, betting on the timing of the election has a colossal amount of smoke without the fire.
But a candidate known for "having a flutter" in a constituency with a 23,000 Tory majority, placing a bet on the odds that he would lose the election is hardly the same.
Its not inside information, and there is virtually no way he could "fix it" to lose with a massive local and national Labour Party election machine an voluntary teams behind him.
I think the public will work it out for themselves

I think the public will work it out for themselves I think the public have worked out for themselves that he like the Tory offenders is as bent as a nine bob note, you are trying and not succeeding in making this out to be something and nothing. Bent like beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I’d bet that the public think he’s as crooked as any.

It cant be bad because the Tories have been caught doing it, until someone from Labour is caught doing the same so it must be bad after all, and Labour are obviously just as bad as the Tories, numbers of miscreants involved being of course irrelevant. Note though that Starmer suspended the Labour miscreant immediately. Whataboutery is the last desperate argument of the morally and intellectually bankrupt. Clearly the Tories are toast if their supporters cannot get a better argument together.

I can't recall any member of the forum making excuses for the Tories, we only highlighted the hypocrisy when Labour tried to play the moral high ground, and of course as usual it came back to bite them on the backside.

As happens so often in politics. But as has been pointed out there is thus far only one Labour miscreant who had no access to inside information unlike many of the Tories. It is as if a number of Tories were to let off hand grenades with Labour being hailed as just as bad because one of them lets off a cracker, lol
