Do you remember what month it was, because if it was before February 2014 bearing in mind that Russia invaded Crimea in Feb. 2014. He might have a bit of a point. Even if he does have a point he was a bit late, I was aware of the demonstrations by the people of Ukraine in 2013, when Putin's man in the Ukraine, Yanukovych, refused to sign the agreement to have closer trading with the EU. Not membership. At a time when Putin was doing his best to get the Ukraine to sigh up to closer trading with Russia. Russia wanted more control over Ukraine, the Ukrainians did not want to sign up to be closer to Russia and we can now see why they didn't. |
