The contempt the presenters have for politicians just breeds more toxicity. As for the callers, they can say they "hate" political parties / politicians and spew out pure venom, and they can repeat any old lie and nobody pulls them up. This leads people to believe that the country is broken, and politicians are corrupt, and they lose all faith in the system. I never hear anybody calling for sensible, respectful debate, or encouraging people to take part in the democratic process. All I hear is a line of people wanting to stick the boot in. I find that interesting, as this forum here should consist of those with an interest in politics, but yet the majority seem to believe that. Personally I believe that the majority of our parliamentarians are hard working honest people, some with more abilities than others, but the behaviour and inabilities of some has tainted all. Huh? That is literally what I said. The media are not interested in showing what a MP actually does, or how we have many check and balances that make us one of the least corrupt countries in the world. Unfortunately, politicians and parties themselves fan the flames with constant finger pointing at their opponents. If you keep hammering a narrative it can become widely accepted as fact. The following being classic examples of untruths that many people believe are true: Hancock gave a contract to his pub landlord - false - he used to be a landlord, but at the time he owned a manufacturing company. Also he wasn't awarded a government contract, he was subcontracted by a company that had won a contract . 37b was wasted on track and trace - false - that was the budget, not what was spent, and 80% of that was for testing. Trump told people to drink / inject bleach - false - he was watching a presentation from doctors about how UV and disinfectants kill Covid, so he was spitballing and asked them if they could inject something that would "clean" the Covid (ie like UV and disinfectants do). What depresses me is that the media know all these are bullshit, yet I daily hear presenters repeating these lies, or they allow the public / contributors to repeat them unchallenged.

ANGELA RANNAR CHEATED THE TAX MAN ON HER HOME -FALSE but it didnt stop you constantly throwing wrongful aligantions. Maybe them that live in glass houses souldnt throw stones.

I'm not saying that it's because, but it's not helpful either. The media constantly write falsehoods under the name of could, might, maybe, which is total clickbait, which is why these days they are pretty much ignored, they have also created a false reality. With their need to seem relevant.
