I think people should be concerned about imports of meat from Australia and New Zealand. Like America they allow the use of growth hormones in cattle. The Americans assure us there are no safety concerns over the use of steroids in animals farmed for meat but ban the use of such steroids in dairy cattle. This is something people should look into for themselves so they can take an informed decision about whether they want to take the risk. Such hormones are banned for use in most other nations around the world although some do allow the import of meat grown with their use. I don't eat meat myself but if I did I don't think I would eat beef from these countries. I certainly wouldn't serve it to others.
