As I said, abject nonsense. Let's look. I have worked closely with the NHS for nearly 30 years and mental health services have always been inadequate. Labour bemoaned "Care in the Community" in opposition but then continued with it throughout their three terms in office. Then the road pricing, ultra low emissions zones, congestion charges and Low Traffic Neighbourhoods so beloved of Labour are really going to help out, aren't they? Until recently, my missus worked in a school and it was far from falling to pieces. Back in the mid 2000s I had to pay to have a knee operation because the NHS was crap. And that was under B'liar. And libraries have become sadly outdated due to the internet. Bullshit. Are we? I'm not. True, and it will only get worse under Labour. Utter tripe - and I am going to tell you why its utter tripe My wife is a psychiatrist, not a jumior doctor or a registrar, she is a senior consultant, working in the NHS for 20 years. My wife has voluntary roles with the Royal College of Psychiatrists, she also helps to teach and train junior doctors, she sometimes works in the General Hospital, on A&E, sometimes in the Psychiatric Hospital, or in clinics or GP Centres, occassionaly she works in Police Stations and Prisons. Everything was fine in 2010, the entire service everywhere, from top to bottom has deteriorated, people no longer want to work in Mental Health because of the worse terms and conditions, everywhere is short staffed, they cannot recruit people, childrens services in many areas are worse than in third world countries. There is no one, not one single person in my wifes team who is going to vote Conservative, because they have decimated Mental Health Services. When you know of young mothers who are pulling their hair out because they cannot get the help their child needs, you know instinctively that this is what a failing service looks like. Mental Health Services may have always been the Cinderella Service, we know that, but it was never like this, and if you have any knowledge or experience of the NHS you would automatically know this. With all due respect to your wife, that's not been my experience over at least as many years. Indeed, things actually seem to have improved of late.
So I'm calling BS.

Going by the so called self-proclaimed psychiatrists and their spouses on this forum, if it's true no wonder this country is fucked up.

Strange that some posters doubt the integrity, intelligence or judgment of those who intend to vote Labour. Especially when you consider that more people are going to vote for Labour than any other political party Don’t know about this one but there’s another one Jim Ratcliffe (dresses and looks like steptoe) a billionaire who has come out in support of labour, doesn’t pay a penny in tax here. This billionaire has bought in to Manchester Utd whose stadium is falling apart and has persuaded Burnham labour mayor to back his plan to get the taxpayer to pay towards a new stadium, now you should forgive my scepticism but I only see the cheeky sod declaring support for labour so he doesn’t have to get his hand in his pocket a double bonus as he pays no tax here either.

I can't remember if I mentioned this last week or not, but when I was on the Moon I tripped on some debris and sprained my ankle, ... well me being a astronaut an all ...I suppose it's a occupational hazard.

In my experience, the vast majority of the public have no idea of the state of mental health services.
They had no idea in 2010 and they mostly have no idea now (although it's beginning perhaps to dawn on more people in the wake of Covid).
But the reality is that it's always been piss poor for at least three decades to my personal knowledge and during all three terms of the last Labour government.
So to imagine that Labour will improve things is positively delusional in its own right.

Spot on, Mental health services within the NHS has ... and always will be a political football until they take it completely out of the hands of incompetent governments and pass it on to the even more incompetent hands of the private sector ... no winners here ... just complete failure ... FULL STOP.

This is where we source the doctors from. It is well known people pay others to sit exams and verification is near impossible unless we retest the staff we have.

I worked on the front line of the NHS for many years, as a charge nurse in psychiatry. The front line is always pared to the bone, in constant crisis. When it comees to admin, theey hire staff, ageency staff, like there is limitless money.
What other organisation does that, keep the front line in crisis, the shop window, and wastes money on god knows what. Were does the multi billions go? What are the values of the manageers that spend huge amounts on diversity sh it, while people die in a and e?
And dont care. Pass it off as i dont know.... that people cant get reffered to services, they cant get past a gp if they can get an appointment. The NHS is a scandal.
