Nigel Farage has declared Reform UK "the opposition to Labour" after his party overtook the Tories for the first time in a new poll.
In a fresh blow to embattled Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, a survey by YouGov for The Times put Reform UK at 19%, compared to the Conservatives at 18%.
The results came out moments before an ITV debate between senior figures in the seven main parties.
Mr Farage wasted no time in gloating about the poll, saying in his opening statement: "Just before we came on air we overtook the Conservatives in the national opinion polls.
"We are now the opposition to Labour."
In a flip of Conservative campaign rhetoric, he also claimed that voting for the Tories over Reform would enable a Labour government.

Reform should also make a lot of new friends in Europe with all that's going on over there.

It would be good to see the Tories suffer as Labour under Michael Foot did. Nothing else - short of hanging them from lamp posts - will focus their minds on how to return to collecting £85k plus perks each

I thought it was very apt when Nigel turned the Tories "a vote for Reform is a vote for Labour" into "a vote for the Tories is a vote for Labour".
The tables really have turned.

Nothing else - short of hanging them from lamp posts - will focus their minds on how to return to collecting £85k plus perks each According to the Telegraph, Farage and his team are heading over to your patch now. As you have rightly pointed out, Wales has been suffering somewhat under the socialist Welsh Assembly, which one can easily imagine probably take their instructions from EU androids. These people in power currently in Wales are therefore due to get Faraged.
