It has been known for a long time that the odd idiot gets run over by a train. These incidentals are recorded, and I believe the numbers of deaths by train are published each year. In 2013 it was recorded that 240 people had died in this way, and by this time it was considered to be a problem that must be dealt with. It was announced in the Guardian that to curb these deaths many new security measures would be introduced, like infrared detectors if someone crosses from platform to line, removing seats at the ends of platforms, putting up fences, even monitoring mobile signals to triangulate the position of each mobile user in the station to determine if they enter a forbidden area.
Now all of this would seem reasonable you may think, but this is just how it was reported in the British press. It turned out the Times of India also ran this story, but on this occasion, rather than to copy a press release, it reported independently on this matter. In the Indian report it said 240 deaths per one year were recorded with 80 of these were on the Reading to Paddington line, and it was because of the high numbers on this particular line that these above mentioned measures were being brought in. It also pointed out the vast majority of these deaths were recorded as suicides involving South Asian women. This line runs through Slough and Southall.
The problems here are that first of all our media hid the real reason why these measures were being taken, and rather than introduce measures to stop it happening around stations in Muslim areas, it had to do the entire country where in most parts of the country this suicide thing just was not a problem. So they waste vast amounts of public and train users money just so they can hide the real cause of this problem. It could well be marital disharmony and the idea of getting another wife. We just do not know.

Theres more to it than stats. I did a research project in Stoke in the A\E dept, a man came in in the dead of night having deliberately put his legs on the railway line, he was alive but died later. About two years ago, a teenager from up north walked in front of a train at Waterbeach station, he was on a delivery run in a van with his father.
Just saying like. Can you imagine their state of mind to do something like that? Apparently, when in a suicidal state of mind, people apparently dont care how, their main aim is to die, in any way, which is borne out by such horrific behaviour.
Ive had experience of asian women by proxy, word of mouth in birmingham, you dont want to be female and asian.

People who for whatever reason decide to end their life will do so by any means, as for Railway Lines no matter what security measures they take people will still get on the line somehow to end their lives

One wonders if any of these suicides were honour-killings disguised as suicides. Once someone has been hit by a train it would be hard to identify "defensive injuries" that are common-place in murders etc. All The Best

What is new is the huge spike on this particular line. I think we agree on this matter, especially your last line.
These issues have been covered up. By the way, I used to run a business near a south Asian area in Manchester. One day an Asian woman came to me as asked for a donation to help the women's refuge she was involved with. I thought it a bit of a cheek as my reply was you pay the same as anyone else. I was pretty strict about this. Some customers wanted favours, but I felt the only fair way to run a firm is to treat all your customers equally, since a freebee to one is in effect the other people who pay what they should having to pay some of their share. So I pretty much told her to piss off. I also thought that the idea of a refuge for what looked like Asian women and not English women was bad as well, and taking the piss in its own way since I've never seen an English woman need a refuge. Today though I have come to understand differently, and yet since the problems have been coved up in the media they lost out. It makes you wonder what else goes on in their communities that has also been covered up.

Can you imagine their state of mind to do something like that? I can imagine it all too well. But then like Richard Burton said in his interview with Parky, i’ve stood there and looked into the abyss. I’ve seen the mess that people leave. Several times. Once might have been suicide, the others were plain stupidity. I don’t fancy my chances of talking anyone out of it because all i recall is thinking well one step and i won’t have to deal with this shit again ever. And that was quite incredibly calming.

And that was quite incredibly calming.I found that too. When I was standing there looking into that abyss the only thing that stayed my hand was the fact my sister had just given birth to my first nephew - and the thought that he would growing up thinking only negative things of me scared me way more than carrying on. That moment when I thought "do this and I can put down all the shit that I have had to carry for decades" was the most peaceful my mind, and my heart, has ever been; it was almost euphoric. All The Best

In my case, i don’t recall the thing that stopped me.
I went home, and choked to death overnight.
The last thing i remember was this glorious realisation my airway was blocked with gastric reflux vomit, i was rapidly losing consciousness, and i could neither breathe in, or out. And my final conscious thought was i would never have to listen to that miserable bastard see you next Tuesday project manageress EVER again
I went into clinical death at 2:58am August 17th 2010
I woke from it at 3:10. It was the third time in my life i have come round to see someone wearing medical scrubs and a worried look. Moira resussed me and Jennifer fetched Chris the paramedic from across the road. He was actually a tad surprised his work had in large measure already been done for him.
I’m still not convinced i fully forgive moira because as i told my boss at 11 the next morning having discharged myself from A&E Resus at 8 (ish) i now still had to work with said bitch
But for those who believe in certain dodgy indian ritual practices and beliefs Sarah who wasn’t around to assist was actually a tad preoccupied. Melissa was born at 3:08 on August 17th 2010.
It was a busy week
Although it would take two more deaths to bond her and me.

Anyway to come back to the opening… I don't buy this business that these are all moslem women taking the easy way out. Over here www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3539603/This study screams words like unfinished and sample size too low But it shares my experience of the time when mum was the police surgeon’s receptionist The sample size of that study is oathetic, and its three to one women to men ratio makes it doubly so But it’s findings DO correlate with actuality as seen by mum in Tiger Bay 1973-2001 and by me in UHW 1979-1982 Women are FAR more likely to attempt suicide than men The MOST POPULAR ways of doing it across both sexes were abuse of prescription medication followed by exsanguination. I’ve personally rescued one of the latter of those but what i prepared to go in his veins while doctors fought to stop it flooding out again would these days get us all struck off. Three punts of generap purpose mammalian plasma boosted by horse serum albumin forca start. The LEAST popular ways of ending it were consumption of a pouson (that’s a gruesome way to go, believe me) snd intentionally throwing oneself under a moving vehicle.
