I think you’re being deliberately obtuse. Reeves has said repeatedly there will be no tax rises needed other than the ones already set out. As I said up the page... Starmer and Reeves have publicly pledged that Labour will not raise income tax, however they refuse to make a similar pledge ref VAT, instead saying they have 'no plans' to raise it. [Until after the election] They've said they won't raise VAT. I agree, it would be a regressive move. I'd much prefer a raise in the tax free rates and a raise in the It rates, but they've ruled that out too.
