Ex-MP for Bolton NE is leaving the Conservative Party and joining Labour. Doesn't technically count as a defection, as Parliament has been prorogued, but is in principle... www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cd11kvk1je4o

Will he get a Labour constituency to fight…? No, he hasn't put his application in to Labour yet, so he's standing down.

Will he get a Labour constituency to fight…? Maybe.
It might be why they won't let Diane Abbott stand again. They want to keep Hackney North and Stoke Newington vacant

Quite clearly any politician who campaigned to be a conservative MP then sat on the government benches while no doubt criticising Labour, who now says they are really socialists, should not be trusted and I hope their constituents tell them so.

I wasn't talking about a specific individual. My post started 'Any' politician... Well given that two of the defectors are not standing, your assertion that they are trying to save their job is incorrect, regardless of whether you were referring to one or any.
