He got a standing ovation and much applause which on this occasion the speaker obviously allowed. He then gave a short speech in which he joked about his situation. He seemed incredibly upbeat.

I see that he has decided not to stand as an MP in July. I don't blame him. It's a difficult enough job with all limbs attached.
