There's no surprise in a big gobbed far right outburst in Spain they ruled the roost for long enough under that despicable murdering piece of political garbage Francisco Franco. Modern Spain, since Franco, is reasonable in comparison.

The strange thing is, they are all saying since Blairs time they are all centrists but cannot agree what a centrist is, or where the centre ground actually is.

Quiet! Me? LOL. Mrs R would be most amused at the very thought. I notice that any individual, group of people, or political party who are not left wing, are described by lefties as 'far right', lol I mean you gotta laugh. Sensible people, which generally speaking excludes lefties, are more than aware that Vox is a Conservative party. Of course when lefties read 'conservative', they see 'far right extremists', bless em.

With the odd exception this thread seems to be a bit of a lefty love in. I see Sheepy & see2 are getting all cosy, imagine their love child, a cross between Marx and Corbyn.

The polarity in politics these days fuels the labelling of both sides as 'far...', if it suits the political rhetoric of the speaker.

The Left have been screaming "far-right" for as long as I can remember, even toward left leaning people who simply don't follow some Communistic failed ideals. The far-left have, for years, been held up on a pedestal by the media whilst they attack ordinary people whose crime is to support this country. It's only when it becomes inconvenient for this establishment that it tries to change position.

The far-left have, for years, been held up on a pedestal by the media whilst they attack ordinary people whose crime is to support this country. It's only when it becomes inconvenient for this establishment that it tries to change position. The converse is also true. I joined PoFo in 2008 as an avowed centrist and was instantly and constantly derided as a communist/socialist/marxist, etc by the dominant right-wing membership, for objecting to their authoritarian, racist, misogynist, homophobic diatribes. As George Galloway might say, the 'far' right and the 'far' left are two cheeks of the same backside, as far as I'm concerned, but that position is rapidly becoming untenable because it seems you 'have' to be loony left or rabid right; there is no space for discourse between the two polarised positions.

Your avatar and words suggests as much. The thing is, if you're only going to attack one side and turn a blind eye to the other then I would argue that centrism is clearly a disputed territory.
