Heathrow Border Force officer among three men charged with spying for Hong Kong (Chinese) intelligence servicesA City of London Police special constable is among three men accused of carrying out surveillance and “hostile” reconnaissance for the Hong Kong intelligence service on British soil. Chi Leung Wai, 38, known as Peter! is a volunteer officer for the force and works as a UK Border Force officer at Heathrow Airport. He has been charged after an investigation by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command with assisting a foreign intelligence service and foreign interference, under the National Security Act 2023. Wai appeared in the dock at Westminster magistrates court on Monday alongside co-defendants Matthew Trickett, 37, and Chung Biu Yuen, 63. Trickett is a private investigator, Immigration Enforcement officer and former Royal Marine, while Yeun – known as Billy - is a retired Hong Kong police officer who now works as office manager at the Hong Kong Economic Trade Office in London. All three men are accused of carrying out surveillance operations in the UK on behalf of Hong Kong authorities, allegedly targeted at dissidents of the foreign regime. www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/three-men-charged-hong-kong-intelligence-services-spying-b1157311.htmlSerious question: Why are Chinese allowed to work in sensitive jobs in this country? Is it considered racist to vet people these days, particularly foreigners. What on earth are the Home Office and intelligence services playing at in allowing Chinese anywhere near sensitive jobs. Xi Jinping must be laughing his bloody head off at the UK.

Because "Racist, innit".
Have you met many border force officers? A sizeable proportion are foreign nationals or of immigrant stock.
No wonder we struggle to deport anyone.

Well yes, I have every confidence 'diversity quotas' have got something to do with it. It's incredible... ... but sir, he might be a spy! Shut up and take him on, think of the departments diversity figures. Well you never know. It wouldn't surprise me if that's what the recruitment process is like.

If they really are spies no background check in the UK would trigger any alarm bells at all, Beijing would have made sure or that IMHO

The fact that 'you' are sure foreigners applying for sensitive jobs in this country are properly vetted, doesn't fill me with confidence if I'm honest.

I mention cuzens because he was a Elite police officer of the Royal guards . I'm sure he would of been vetted in such a high Security precision Since you persist in delving into whataboutery. I have no idea what level of vetting a prospective police officer goes through these days, although I suspect in order to meet diversity quotas vetting would be seen as racist. Quite obviously diversity quotas should be scrapped. Formal qualifications, in English, should be a minimum requirement, and vetting should be a given. Diversity quotas are: a) Racist against the white English majority. b) Promote a race to the bottom. c) Make it easier for undesirables to be appointed to sensitive jobs.

You appear to have an unhealthy fixation on Wayne Couzens. Perhaps you should start a Wayne Couzens thread. Might I point you in the direction of the OP and remind you that you are yet to comment on it.

I don't know why you're wasting your time on it, when the topic is actually an important area of discussion.
