You will no doubt remember the murder of PC Sharon Beshenivsky, an unarmed police officer shot to death in 2005.

The cold blooded murder of an unarmed police officer in the execution of his, or indeed her duty, in any circumstances, should carry the death penalty. Yes I know he is 75 and a minimum 40 year sentence means he will die in prison. But that does not detract from the fact he should swing. This will never go to a referendum because the government know damned well the vast majority of people would be in favour of the proporsition. Democracy? Don't make me laugh.
