He has just posted on X that he looks forward to working constructively with Swinney and "focusing on the real issues that matter to families – delivering jobs, growth and better public services for people across Scotland."
Ok, pretty standard stuff, but so far all Swinney himself has said is that his priority is to end child poverty, which suggests that he does not have any policies beyond guaranteeing every Scottish kiddie half a crown a week pocket money. And no one else has come up with much of anything else. so why not give Rikki-Tikki-Tavi a chance ?
After all, come the election the poor little sod will want a new job

Scottish - and Welsh - would-be’s have for as long as i can remember deemed it a priority to end child poverty yet while BMI figures suggest they certainly solved tbe malnutrition problem, rickets is making a bit of a comeback.

Sunak's approval ratings would soar if he'd hold a referendum to scrap devolution. Sunak's popularity would soar if he did something.
His problem is not that he making the right or wrong decisions, but that he isn't doing anything.
He is like a rabbit sitting in the middle of the road and staring into the headlamps of an approaching motor. Or pushbike. Or whatever. Not a bad bloke, but he is pretty much our first non prime minister
