The welfare system is not funded by NI. You just have to love people who have absolutely no idea at all what they are talking about: What NI Is Used ForBasic State Pension, Additional State Pension, New State Pension - all arguably not Welfare, although a case could be made that BSP is. However; New Style Jobseeker’s Allowance, Contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance, clearly ARE part of the Welfare System. Maternity Allowance: Given that MA is a means tested benefit administered by the DWP you'd be very hard pressed to definitively claim it is not part of the Welfare System. All The Best The welfare system is funded by taxation - there is no ring fencing of NI receipts. You should learn how the UK Government works once in a while.

Unfortunately you have been taken for a ride - it is quite common though.

And one from 2018, so it can't even prove the claim you made. You really don't want to be taken seriously at all, do you? All The Best

The Tories cannot survive another party leader election change and in an election year it would cost yet more votes. Also there is no obvious candidate, even Penny Mordant says she has nothing do with wanting a new leader. Sunak, has to get his policies right. He will keep most of the Brexit Tory right as he is pushing Rwanda more than anyone else to date. The Tory business right (who voted Truss in ) wanted more tax breaks, the economy is picking up that could be on the table. All the others are making noises, what's new though little on their policies........... The two tax cuts made no difference to the polls so far, so it's difficult to say that more of that would help. I think that you're right that they can't change leader again. I'm not sure it would cost votes, as I think the party is currently at rock bottom (i.e. the only people voting tory now are those who would no matter what) but it would deter floating voters looking at the chaos. I've no idea where the Tory party will go next, I think it depends on who retains their seat. As the elderly pay no NI, the recent 'tax' cuts which were nothing of the sort, made sod all difference

So still actually ignoring the Government's own website? That is a herculean effort of denial. All The Best

Well I tried - if you want to believe that NI receipts are hypothecated even though the Home Secretary stated that: "National Insurance Contributions is a non-hypothecated tax".. then feel free.

Well I tried - if you want to believe that NI receipts are hypothecated even though the Home Secretary stated that: "National Insurance Contributions is a non-hypothecated tax".. then feel free. The Government's OFFICIAL website, which I linked to, clearly states NI is, in part, used to fund some benefits. Taz does not have to be hypothecated to X to actually be used to, in part, fund X. If the Home Secretary is too stupid to read the Government's own information that is the Home Secretary's problem, not mine. All The Best
