Seems like it's only able to mimic its Ukip forerunner, and that's by getting a sitting MP to jump ship...

Seems like it's only able to mimic its Ukip forerunner, and that's by getting a sitting MP to jump ship... Not at all. Looking to the general election, behind closed doors both the Tories and Labour will be very concerned that Reform UK, a party that is just 5 years old, took 17% of the vote in the Blackpool by-election.

There’s a lot more to do across the UK for a party that comes third out of nine contestants and even then gets less than a third of the votes of the winner. As for presenting Reform as the main party of opposition, after its dismal performance in the current local elections, I’ll leave the rich owners and backers of our Right Wing news media to feed their opinions to their audience…

I have never presented Reform UK as the main party of opposition, strange thing to say.

Reform is a collection of the usual anti EU personalties and celebrities who — over the years —have joined, left, and rejoined the various parties that now form Reform.
Other than those observations, I make no claims for Reform that its leader isn't widely reported making himself...
Reform UK is emerging as the “real opposition” to Labour in large parts of the country, the party’s leader has claimed.
Reform UK party leader Richard Tice told the BBC that his party is becoming the "real opposition to the Labour Party" in parts of England and Wales.

Despite failing to gain any councillors in local elections so far, Richard Tice was bullish about his party’s performance at Thursday’s polls and said it was “clear that the Tories are on the way down”.

LOL yes indeed, as Labour are a collection of pro EU personalities. You are the mirror image of the pro EU lefties who rubbished UKIP and as Farage famously said, they ain't laughing now. However. You list some links in which Richard Tice promotes his party. Can you provide me with a link, just one will do, in which the leader of any party does not promote his party?..

I was citing the Reform Party's Leader's own views in my earlier reply that you appeared to query.
That's why I thought you might like to be aware of Reform Party's Leader's own views...

Hmm...
Lib Dem councillors up 104; Green councillors up 74; Reform councillors up...2.
Face it, Reform represent a tiny, and tiny-minded...minority of voters.

LOL, I'm reminded of a famous quote... ..."UKIP are a party of fruitcakes loonies and closet racists". A few years later and without any MP's UKIP changed government policy and Cameron ate those words as he handed in his resignation. Laugh away.

This should be his USP because few MPs have any experience of anything outside of politics. They go straight from being a student union knob to an politician.

closer.ac.uk/data/share-vote-party/en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1970_United_Kingdom_general_electionIn 1970 the voting age dropped to 18 and 72% of the voters turned out. SEVEN per cent of the voters nationwide voted liberal, but that meant Thorpe had only five fellow MP’s to Parliament. His predecessor Jo Grimond had ELEVEN fellow MP’s from a 75% turnout that gave him 8.5% of the vote of 21 year olds and above. A study of wikipedia’s records since then show Lib Dem gains largely from Tory seats with liberal democrat share reaching 22% By 2015 Sturgeon’s takeover of Scotland saw hatred of Clegg’s duplicity and collaboration with the tories cause a loss of over 40 seats to a mere 8 off 8% of the popular vote. In short, Reform are not doing well under First Past The Post as they appeal to parts of the electorate where they can only take support from conservatives and thereby hand labour a victory. Past Liberal / Past LibDem / Current ScotsNat gains in popular vote may have handed victory to one or other parties but at least yielded sone seats…

I was up all night, firstly because an overnight server job failure needed my attention but then because i was riveted to the screen I thought it was at the opening of the news headlines at 6:00 that dimbleby stared right at the camera wearing a face that had sucked a bucket of lemons and said ‘The UK was leaving the European Union’ but clearly my timescale was off . But an enjoyable night nonetheless.
