Just to give it some perspective that wouldn't actually equate to one months government debt interest payments, so the chances of it improving public services is nil. It is much more likely that it is swallowed up in some financial black hole.Or more handouts - Britain now spends just over £25bn per month on welfare. It is just another long round where the British voters realise they have been backing the wrong horse, they did it with the EU, they did it with the Lib Dems and the Tories, while the actual voters become less and less as they realise they are actually voting for their own downfall. Where it ends up whoever they vote for just ends up punishing them for it, because basically it was all lies in the first place.

Oh fuck me; did you even read the chart? Income did NOT fall under New Labour. The rate of increase slowed.
exactly - things got better under Thatcher and worse under Labour. But NEGATIVE ONLY under the Conservatives. We were still getting better off under Labour, but at a slower rate. Under the current Tory incompetence we HAVE got POORER. FFS, it is not rocket science you know. Well, it clearly is for Tory supporters... ...hardly a shock, that All The Best

It's interesting that Income rose in every term of Thatchers Government and fell during every term of the New Labour Government. So Blair advising Starmer is not looking good chaps... Oh fuck me; did you even read the chart? Income did NOT fall under New Labour. The rate of increase slowed. The ONLY government to push growth into minus figures is the Conservatives. All The Best pacifico cant even read his own charts lol

The complete opposite of what happened under Thatcher. Kinda suggests we need more Thatcherism Not sur

Oh yes, I remember Thatcherism
Record unemployment - leading to riots on the streets, a time when Britain came closer to civil unrest than at any time since the Great Depression, the miners strike, British Bobbies charging at British miners on horseback, bludgeoning people with trungeons.
Thatcher presided over a period where the country slipped into the Red on trade, never to recover, manufacturing decimated.
The Poll Tax, more riots on our streets, privatisation of Water, Gas, Electricity; In 1984 unemployment peaked at 3.3 million people, causing many moderate Conservatives to openly question what she was doing to British society.
The very best years in my lifetime where without doubt the Blair years, with year on year sustained growth, improving public services, low unemployment, low inflation, improving living standards and several years of Budget Surplus, truly the good times.

No, completely wrong, under the entire term of Blair borrowing was well under control and did not reach the peak reached under the previous Major government.

She also took on the unions who were shutting down the country at every opportunity and leaving shit all over the streets. If it wasn't for Thatcher we'd have become a third world country long ago and Blair wouldn't have had any money to waste.
I wouldn't be surprised if the lefties started banging on about the Poll Tax. Something that was never defeated and simply became council tax a year or so later.

You want to cut pensions?

How many accounts do you have on here, Oracle/aristaeus? It's a bit rude, accusing mods of creating sock puppets.

But as the link showed - people were increasingly better off year on year.. You cant beat that.
