You agree with the shouty bit, excellent. However, the only reason someone can claim to be a refugee after illegally entering the EU then travelling though several perfectly safe EU states before paying a people smuggler to get them to the UK, is because of legislation penned in the late 1940's which was designed to ease the plight of tens of millions of displaced people in a war torn Europe. I'm fairly sure the authors of the 1951 refugee convention never envisaged that 75 years later it would be used by left wing lawyers to protect foreign criminals. But that is exactly what it is being used for. I don’t necessarily disagree with that — but I would add that I don’t think that just attempting to put the shutters up is going to solve the problem. Unless the developed world comes together to devise humane ways of countering the situations around the globe that cause millions of refugees to flee their homes, the problem is likely to continue. The promises of Brexit show that single countries — or even the US — cannot stop illegal immigration by themselves… We should not allow people to come to this country, regardless of any claimed status, who do not share our language, our beliefs, our customs traditions and way of life. It's time our elected representatives put this country and British people first, wouldn't that make a refreshing change. It is perfectly accurate to describe people who cross the channel as criminals, it would also be accurate to describe some of them as savages and terrorists. Yet some people, those of a more left wing persuasion, insist they are poor refugees, incredible. Brexit has nothing to do with illegal immigration. The only reason we have illegal immigration on a scale we have never in our long history seen before, is because without the permission or consent of any electorates, the EU invited every vagrant, criminal, ne'er-do-well and in all likelihood terrorist from all corners of the world to come to a borderless Europe. Brexit and independence should have protected us, but sadly we have weak globalist politicians who are frightened to upset the EU, and with a Labour government on the horizon, I genuinely fear for the future of this once great country.

A good rant but, given the complete history of Britain, I'm confident that is not going to hit mainstream to any greater degree than any Tommy Robinson rhetoric...

As if we didn't know. Labour's TRUE colours! Starmer's mad amnesty on Channel migrants will mean even more flooding to UK, but could give Sunak a chance. It reflects enormously poorly on the Conservatives that despite Sir Keir Starmer being a dud, the latest YouGov poll show him literally miles ahead and the gap between Rishi (18%) and Reform (15%) now being it’s smallest ever at just 3%. I can only believe that Labour is beginning to actually feel sorry for Sunak and that’s the reason they have decided to reveal an immigration policy which might give Sunak a glimmer of hope at the General Election. www.gbnews.com/opinion/labour-s-true-colours-starmer-s-mad-amnesty-on-channel-migrants-will-mean-even-more-flooding-to-uk-but-could-give-sunak-a-chance-kelvin-mackenzieThe Tories really have to go large on this, they have to pull out all the stops. They have to make sure that everyone in the country knows that a vote for Labour is a vote to flood the country with even more migrants.
