A "News" programme on any TV station reports The News, it is not required to give out associated information, such as "what if".
Apart from anything else, I think that most people know that asylum seekers crossing Europe could apply for Asylum in any European country, it would be stating the bleeding obvious.
The law does not require any person to seek asylum in the first safe country they enter, in which case it would make the already difficult situation in Turkey for example, even worse.
An Asylum Seeker from Syria can choose the UK as his / her place of asylum, and the law does not require that France has to take back asylum seekers who cross the English Channel.
We need co-operation instead of confrontation with the European Union, something we clearly wont get under a Conservative government.

The law does require, the convention agrees that no sanction should be applied on the basis of law breaking to reach whichever location he claims asylum. There is no right to travel across numerous countries in an illegal fashion, that has appeared as a consequence of some judgements made as regards individual situations. Asylum seekers have a duty to obey all laws in any safe country within which they find themselves. Travelling across borders is breaking the law. The fact the ME is a basket case area which impacts on Turkey most is just the current issue, in WW2 I am sure that Turkey did not take French, Dutch, Poles and Jews that found their way to the UK.
