The words, stable door, and too late spring to mind. When all this costly legal wrangling started, why could the government not bring in some emergency laws, and argue the toss while acting to stop the flow, and avert long-term delays. We seem to be able to be able to implement emergency laws, in times of war, and repeal them when the crisis is over. Perhaps no-one in the government could see this as a crisis, so didn't act accordingly.........I can't wait for all the faux concerns of the usuals........Just remember that the Labour Party would welcome them with open arms and will definitely repeal the Rwanda deal if they get elected!
Tragedy as 'five migrants die crossing Channel' trying to reach Britain - hours after Rwanda law finally passes through Parliament as Rishi Sunak vows to push on with flights within weeks...
Five people including a child are believed to have died in the latest Channel migrant tragedy today, hours after Rishi Sunak vowed to push on with deportation flights to Rwanda.
Hundreds set off for the UK from France today, taking advantage of calm weather the day after Parliament finally approved a new law to send arrivals to East Africa.
The French coastguard said that the dead were three men, a woman and a child, as they launched a major rescue operation off Wimereux, close to Boulogne-sur-Mer.
Ministers have said that one of their prime concerns is to prevent people smugglers putting people on the water in unseaworthy boats.
Before the tragedy struck, Mr Sunak this morning said he would let nothing 'stand in our way', with hopes flights may start in July.
The first asylum seekers are expected to be rounded up and detained within days after a political tussle over the controversial law finally ended in the early hours of this morning.

The danger of drowning has been there from the start, ignored by all. Britain can legally, by international law return the boat people to France....problem solved. Sunak ignored the obvious to open the illegal immigration gates, for his own ends, and by so doing is an accesory to law breaking and the loss of life.
Even now that penny wont drop.
And more children will die, as well as adults, a child died. If it was me i would order the return of all today, even being this late. Sunak is the criminal gangs enabler. He cant afford to back down, be wrong.....he is already fired, but does not know it, a sure sign of being quite mad.

Why does it matter? It is none of our business, it happened in French waters so let them conduct the inquiry. They get paid more than 1m pounds per week to stop things like this from happening. Five migrants trying to get to Britain on a small boat suffocated due to the mass of people already on board, French investigators have said. A criminal enquiry was underway in France last night following the five deaths - including that of a four-year-old girl - in the English Channel. Some of themigrants are understood to have suffocated in a gruesome accident on a small boat which then continued on its way to Britain. People smugglers are suspected of charging up to £1000-a-head to board the inflatable dinghy packed with 112 people, instead of an advised 20. It got in to difficulty early on Tuesday morning off Wimereux beach, near Boulogne-sur-Mer, flinging around 50 people into the bitterly cold water. Some of the victims are believed to have fallen on the boat and ended being trampled under foot. 'They were effectively suffocated while struggling to get out of the trap,' said an investigating source. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13342951/Were-tragic-five-migrants-trying-Britain-crushed-small-boat-French-investigators-say-victims-including-girl-four-suffocated-getting-trapped-dinghy-weight-onboard.html

"Culpable homicide" is: Whoever causes death by doing an act with the intention of causing death, or with the intention of causing such bodily injury as is likely to cause death, or with the knowledge that he is likely by such act to cause death, commits the offence of culpable homicide.

The FRENCH launched a RESCUE operation They won’t half cop it for that They’re supposed to call Dover Coastguard and ask them to send the big orange taxi Is it a coincidence the day after the Lords finally give in to the Rwanda bill the BBC choose to broadcast their big orange RNLI Taxi collecting five fate-dodgers ? I think not

Asylum seekers eh?.. - The guy was a political refugee from Iran - He was granted asylum in Greece - He then went to Germany as an economic migrant - He then went to France as an economic migrant - He then came to the UK as an economic migrant He paid someone £3,000 to be smuggled into the UK, then falsely requested asylum despite not needing it.
