I watched yet another Terminator film last night, hadnt seeen that one before, well made, almost identical to all the others. And yes, i enjoyed the violence. Was it pertinent to now, today?, of course. We have our own Terminator, Mr Putin, if we despatch him, another Terminator will arise.
Just like the film. Terminators of the Putin type are ten a penny, and many now, and in the past, have come and gone, and do require terminating. Or do they? That all religions teach love, understanding, tolerance.....forgiveness. How does that play out in the Ukraine. That Ukrainian troops lay down their arms?
And hope the penny drops? Wont work will it, so what then? Terminators, or evil people are everywhere, in your family, work place, and in some degree you. most function under an invisibilty cloak. In family therapy, one narcissist or psychopath can rule all in a family, as in countries like Russia.
In a way, maybe do gooding is wrong, maybe in all ways, that to rescue bad people from consequences is robbing them of consequences, or the chance to learn. Having said that, will a pile of dead children in a childrens hospital in the Ukraine impact mr Putin. An interesting one. I dont think so, he will explain it away as a price to pay for something better.
He does not have the the software to understand, which begs the question will he ever? Indeed, even in higher spheres wars are fought, the fallen angels, St Michael, the angel of war, the frisson of constant war. Yet we are taught to forgive....to what end, i cant see it.
End indeed, here is the rub, there will be another terminator film, violence, death, unbelievable destruction, and i will enjoy that if there is a decent gap from the last one, or tedium sets in. There will be another Putin, Hitler Pol Pot, Chi, etc, and they will require putting down if its possible.
That the lesson is that the struggle is interminasble, eternal.
A definition of being in hell. And as in science, nature, one force gives birth to an opposing and equal force. That the only way out, in this world anyway, is recalling the buddhist parable of a prince walking in a jungle, and he comes across a starving lion, and he offers his arm to the lion to eat, or to Mr Putin, welcome him into our house of parliament, as leader. That such is saying i quit this stupid game, maybe paradise exists in a world like that. Maybe St Michael should try it. And god, pay attention to his own teachings, that even he, is flawed.
